Monika and I were born in the 60’s, during the rule of Communism in Poland. Our childhood was spent within the terror of the Communist dictatorship during which we experienced oppression, intimidation and lack of freedom. There was no freedom of thought or religion. In our inner being there was a yearning for freedom and for knowing truth and reality. In the mid-80’s, the young people of our nation started to fulfil the growing yearning for freedom and in 1989 the Iron Curtain finally came down. We believed that God answered our nation’s prayers.
After this time, the churches began to receive a supernatural outpouring because of a hunger for freedom, righteousness and a new life. God began to supernaturally supply missionaries to the nation and people started to grow in the true Christian faith.

Israel/Palestine Conflict 🇮🇱🇵🇸
In light of the ongoing situation in Israel and Gaza, we have been in touch with our linked organisations in the nation to ask how best we can pray. One organisation told us,
“We know of 2 believers who have died already, one of them was a pastors son from our congregation in Ashdod. Both were serving with the IDF. All citizens have been told to store 72 hours of water and food with torches, ID cards and other essentials in their bomb shelters. We are anticipating a Hizbollah attack soon. They have 200,000 rockets. Our team have been out and about today across Jerusalem taking supplies to the elderly and those in need.”
Another organisation said,
“News from Jerusalem in the early hours tell us staff have been in and out of the shelters alongside their Israeli residents. Everyone looking out for each other, adults helping children, sharing water and treats. Good they can be there for each other whilst praying for those def...

Elspeth Davidson is our Finance Assistant. She works alongside our Finance Officer Tom, dealing with donations coming in and helping ensure all monies are designated properly.
💬 I joined the Elim Missions team in Feb 2017 as a part-time Finance Assistant…and I am still here! It is a real privilege to be a part of this team and humbling to see first-hand the generosity of God’s people in supporting the wider church family abroad.
Having grown up on the mission field in a very troubled DR Congo, I know how critical this support is. It is wonderful to have the opportunity to encourage and enable others to serve God where He has called them.

My name is Peter Narkotey. I am 59 years old. I am married to Agnes Narkotey and we have been blessed to two lovely children, Daniel and Rebecca.
I have been the Pastor of the Elim Pentecostal Church, Battersea, South West London for 17 years. I first became passionate about missions in my late teens when I started leading teams of young people on short-term mission to UK & European churches. On one of these teams to Spain I was impacted incredibly and forever changed.
In 2006 I sold my IT company and as a family we set off for Bible College and then onto Spain as missionaries. I am married to Helen, and have two daughters who are still fluent Spanish speakers as a result of being in a state school over there.
Our return back to the UK was surprising at the time, but God was still leading and my excitement for being involved in mission and supporting missionaries has never waned. Whilst as Associate Pastor at Huddersfield Elim for the last 9 ½ years I have also been a regional mission’s representative and part of the Himalayan Working Group.

Our hearts are broken by the ongoing conflict between Israel and Hamas. The loss of innocent life on both sides is truly tragic, and we believe the heart of God is grieved by this even more so than ours are.
🙏We continue to pray for all those affected: those who have lost loved ones in the Hamas attack on Israel, and in the retaliation upon Gaza from Israel.
🙏We pray for the civilians in Gaza who are trapped in this siege and under constant fear of bombardment.
🙏We pray for Jewish and Muslim communities in our own nation who are being affected by this tragedy.
🙏We pray for those beginning to bring aid into Gaza from Egypt.
🙏 We pray for an end to the violence against civilians, especially against women and children.
🙏We pray for political leaders on both sides and from ally states, that they will achieve an end to violence and work towards a lasting peace.

I have been involved in mission trips to Romania since 2001 when three of us made our first trip to Sardu near Cluj Napoca in the north of Romania. Now, the Corabia Foundation has been established and groups from all over Britain and, more recently, America visit on a regular basis to support the work with children and young people and within the Roma community.
I am from Bradford, West Yorkshire, and have attended the Elim Church there for the last 30 years where I have always been involved in the children's and youth work. I have three grown up children who all still live in Yorkshire but who have made the trip to Romania on many occasions.
I trained as a nursery practitioner and later as an early years and primary school teacher. I have most recently gained qualifications in leading children and family centres. I am keen to use the qualifications and experience I have gained to serve God here in Sardu and the surrounding area....

I also process the applications for those who have completed our Missionary Academy and are looking to long term missionary service.
My other role here is to co-ordinate our Shop With Integrity project. This involves buying goods made by local artisans in the developing world and selling them through our churches and ministries here in the UK. The project has ethical trade at its heart.
I am passionate about missions and consider it a privilege to work with such a great team.
