BDL, MBDA sign MoU to manufacture Mistral in India.

Bharat Dynamics Limited (BDL) and MBDA, a European missile maker signed MoU at EUROSATORY-22 in Paris for the manufacture of Mistral Missiles in India. Mistral is an Air-to-air missile (ATAM) system For Helicopters Based on the Mistral, a heat-seeking missile with fire-and-forget engagement mode.
Mistral has two launchers, each bearing two missiles and that can be connected to the helicopter's combat system that can be operated within the whole flight envelope of the launching helicopter, at speeds of up to 200 knots and altitudes exceeding 15,000 feet.

15-kg IED planted in pressure cooker recovered in J&K's Pulwama.

A major tragedy was averted after Jammu and Kashmir police recovered a 15 kg improvised explosive device (IED) at Armullah Litter area of the Pulwama district of south Kashmir on June 16. Two terrorist associates who were involved in this incident have been also arrested by the J&K police.

Two Hizbul Terrorists Killed In Anantnag Encounter In Jammu And Kashmir.

Vijay Kumar, Inspector General of Police (IGP) Kashmir said that the killed terrorists have been identified as Junaid and Basit Bhat of the HM terror outfit.

Pakistan hands high precision Turkish pistols to J&K terrorists for targeted attacks.

Pakistan is supplying lightweight and high-precision Turkey-made Canik TP9 pistols to terrorist outfits in J&K for "increased accuracy" in attacks on civilians and off duty security personnel.
The proliferation of these guns, part of combat equipment used by highly modernised armies, was confirmed after security forces seized 15 pistols, 30 magazines, 300 rounds of ammunition and a silencer during a crackdown on overground workers of terrorist outfits following a series of targeted killings in May.

Accidental grenade blast kills soldier in J&K's Kupwara.

A soldier was killed in an accidental grenade blast on 17th June, in Jammu and Kashmir's Kupwara district. Police sources said that the grenade exploded accidentally when signalman Bharat Yaduwanshi was on duty at the Gonipora Gugtiyal Camp in Kupwara.

India's BEL Experimenting With electromagnetic catapult launch system.

Indian Navy Vice Chief Vice Admiral SN Ghormade on
his visit to the state-owned Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL) facility in Bengaluru was showcased what appears to be a basic electromagnetic catapult launch system testing model likely to be equipped on a future Indian Aircraft carrier that can perform Catapult Assisted Take-Off But Arrested Recovery (CATOBAR) operations from its decks.
India's electromagnetic catapult launch system program seems to be in its infancy and attempts are to prove the basic concept of the system on a small scale before it can be presented for further development. Indian Navy or Defence Ministry has not sanctioned any full-scale development of electromagnetic catapult launch system program in-country yet.

Indian Army to start Pilot training on Apache Helicopters.

Indian Army had placed orders for six Boeing AH-64E Apache attack helicopters in 2020 and will start sending Indian Army personnel to the United States for training to operate this gunship that was part of the deal by end of this year. Indian Army's Aviation Corps (AAC) will be sending pilot and ground staff for training in batches as it will start getting the first lof helicopters from Boeing from next year onwards.AH-64E Apache attack helicopter to be delivered to AAC will have Made in India fuselage developed by the Tata Boeing Aerospace Limited facility in Hyderabad. Boeing's AH-64 Apache manufacturing facility in Mesa, AZ has commenced work on the first lot of Apache attack helicopter that is meant for the Indian Army.

Indian Air Force chief, Air Chief Marshal VR Chaudhari will be visiting six forward bases on Friday where he would address the troops and discuss the details of the Agnipath entry scheme.The aim is to explain the details of the scheme to the last man in the force, IAF said in its official statement today. Notably, the Air Force currently has over 60 air stations all over India. These are grouped into seven commands: Western Air Command at New Delhi, Eastern Air Command at Shillong, Central Air Command at Prayagraj, and Southern Air Command at Thiruvananthapuram (Trivandrum), South Western Air Command at Gandhinagar, Training Command at Bengaluru and Maintenance Command at Nagpur. The largest airbase is in Hindon, Uttar Pradesh.

China launches most advanced 3rd aircraft carrier, eyes extended range into Indo-Pacific.

China on Friday launched its third aircraft carrier, the country's most advanced, as an aggressive Beijing sought to extend the range of its navy in the strategic Indo-Pacific region and perhaps at a later date to the faraway Indian Ocean where it has already acquired bases.The aircraft carrier named Fujian was launched at a brief ceremony held at Shanghai's Jiangnan Shipyard, the official media reported from the eastern metropolis. The Fujian is China's first domestically designed and built catapult aircraft carrier.

Intelligence Agencies are keeping a close watch on social media, especially WhatsApp groups that are spreading misinformation and provoking students on the 'Agnipath' recruitment scheme.They have also asked state police to keep watch on anti-social elements joining the protest to target police and public property. A senior official said that the staff working on the ground have been instructed to keep watch on social media accounts of coaching institutes for defence exam preparation and approach local police to talk to owners of these institutes and make them appeal to students to maintain peace and clarify their doubts on 'Agnipath' recruitment scheme.
