The Indian Air Force (IAF) is the youngest service and the young men and women joining as a result of the new Agneepath scheme will fit well with the organisation's ethos, the vice chief of air staff, Air Marshal Sandeep Singh, said today. For the Agniveers, who will be part of the Agneepath Scheme, which sees 45,000 young men of about 17 to 21 joining the services shortly and after that, 50,000 and more every year, the vice chief said, there will be a special training capsule and after that, they will move to operational areas for about three years.
The Agneepath scheme aims to transform the armed forces by inducting 45,000 young men and women for a period of four years. Those selected will be paid about Rs 40,000 a month, though the amount will be deducted as provident fund. At the end of the four years, 25 per cent will join the armed forces if they wish and the other 75 per cent will be given about Rs 10 lakh and they are likely to be reemployed by the government or by the private sector. The Agneevirs will have on their side discipline, training, an education certificate and Importantly, youth, At that age,they will be ready to work anywhere and have special skills.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Wednesday announced the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) has decided to give primacy to 'Agniveers, who have completed four years under the 'Agnipath' scheme, over others in the recruitment of the Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFS) and Assam Rifles.
The Home Minister also informed that a "detailed planning" and "work in this regard" have been initiated in the MHA immediately after Prime Minister Narendra Modi took the decision on 'Agnipath' scheme. In a series of tweets in Hindi, Shah first welcomed the scheme, while claiming that it is aimed at transforming the armed forces.

NSA Ajit Doval attends high level meeting at MHA to discuss, review security in Kashmir.

National Security Advisor (NSA) Ajit Doval is participating in a high-level meeting at the Ministry of Home Affairs to discuss and review security systems in place in Kashmir, among other issues. Apart from the NSA, senior officials of the Ministry of Home Affairs and from Jammu & Kashmir were also present at the meeting. A slew of targeted killings in the Kashmir Valley has resulted in tensions being high in New Delhi. According to security forces, the attacks have been carried out by hybrid terrorists. These are operatives who are not on any terror lists but are radicalised enough to carry out a strike and then slip back into routine life.
Cop Injured In Grenade Attack In Jammu and Kashmir's Anantnag.

A police personnel was injured in a grenade attack in Anantnag district of Jammu and Kashmir on Wednesday, police said.
The attack took place at a police naka at Padshahi Bagh area of the south Kashmir district. "Terrorists hurled a grenade towards Police Naka at Padshahi Bagh area of Anantnag, resulting in minor injuries to one police personnel,"
Explosives Recovered From Bus In Jammu.

Jammu and Kashmir Police recovered explosives in the form of gelatin sticks from a bus carrying an unidentified number of passengers on the outskirts of the city on Wednesday, officials said.
The explosives were detected during a routine check at Jajjar Kotli along Jammu-Srinagar national highway, a police spokesperson said. He said that experts from Bomb Disposal Squad (BDS) were immediately rushed to the scene and the explosive substance was later detonated through a controlled mechanism.
