In the wake of devastating landslides in Sikkim, Indian Air Force (IAF) is tirelessly undertaking Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Relief operations—airlifting essential relief supplies and deploying NDRF personnel to remote, cut-off areas. IAF Mi-17 helicopters have evacuated 33 stranded people, including two US nationals from Chaten region.
Defence Secretary Shri Rajesh Kumar Singh today led the Indian delegation at the 8th India-Sri Lanka Annual Defence Dialogue in Colombo. Secretary, Defence AVM Sampath Thuyacontha (R) headed the Sri Lankan side. Wide-ranging talks were held on military cooperation, training & capacity building, defence industrial collaboration & regional security in the Indian Ocean Region.
