After successful participation in Exercise Udara Shakti 2024 at Malaysia, the Indian Air Force (IAF) contingent returned to India, on 10 Aug 24. The joint air exercise was conducted in collaboration with the Royal Malaysian Air Force (RMAF) from 05 to 09 August 2024 at Kuantan, Malaysia. The IAF participated with Su-30MKI fighter jets.
A significant milestone was achieved as 1389 Agniveers, including 214 women Agniveers, of the Indian Navy, along with 331 Coast Guard Naviks, passed out from the portals of INS Chilka on 09 Aug 24. The Passing Out Parade (POP) for the fourth Batch of Agniveers (01/24) marked the culmination of 16 weeks of rigorous naval training in a unique post-sunset ceremony. The POP was reviewed by Admiral Dinesh K Tripathi, Chief of the Naval Staff, Vice Admiral V Srinivas, Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Southern Naval Command was the Conducting Officer of the parade. Vice Admiral Rajesh Pendharkar, Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Eastern Naval Command was also present on the occasion.

IndianNavy has cleared the state-owned Mazagon Dock Limited (MDL) to build six submarines with the projected cost upto Rs 60,000 crore. The decision follows the completion of trials for submarines under Project 75 India, according to defence sources, India Today reported.

Maldivian President Mohamed Muizzu emphasized the importance of strengthening ties with India and acknowledged India's support in developing water and sewerage facilities on 28 islands. Muizzu thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Indian government for their ongoing aid and expressed hope for continued cooperation between the two nations.

He was speaking at the ceremony held at the Maldivian President's Office, where he was handing over the completed water supply and sewerage facilities on 28 islands in the Maldives, funded by the Government of India's Line of Credit Facility through EXIM Bank of India.

DRDO successfully test-fired the Made-in-India Man-Portable Anti Tank Guided Missile (MP-ATGM) at the field firing range in Jaisalmer, Rajasthan.
On 12th August 2024, during night hours, BSF troops observed suspicious movement of an infiltrator from Pakistan who was approaching towards border security fence after crossing the International Border in the area falling near bordering Village Dal of district Tarn Taran, Punjab .

Alert BSF troops challenged the intruder but he did not stop and continued his advance towards the border security fence. Sensing imminent danger and keeping in view the high alert situation on the border during night hours, the troops on duty, fired upon the advancing intruder neutralizing him on the spot.
India preparing to test-fire a new air defence system called SAMAR 2 (surface-to-air missile for assured retaliation) with a range of almost 30 km. It uses the R-27 missile.
DRDO carried out successful maiden flight test of Long Range Glide Bomb (LRGB), 'GAURAV' from Su-30 MK-I platform of the Indian Air Force (IAF). The test was conducted off the coast of Odisha.

GAURAV is an air launched 1,000 kg class glide bomb capable of hitting targets at long distance.

After being launched, the glide bomb steer towards the target using highly accurate hybrid navigation scheme with a combination of INS and GPS data.

GAURAV has been designed and developed indigenously by the Research Centre Imarat (RCI), Hyderabad.
