The Australian government has increased international student visa fees from $710 to $1,600, effective July 1, 2024.

The additional revenue generated will fund education initiatives, including reducing graduate debt and supporting apprentices.
However, the increased fee may impact Australia's attractiveness to international students, as competing countries like the UK, Canada, and the US charge lower fees.
