Chief of Defence Staff, Gen Anil Chauhan visited Aircraft and Systems Testing Establishment (ASTE) and Air Force Test Pilots School (AFTPS) in Bengaluru on 24 May 2024. A ceremonial Guard of Honour was accorded and he laid a wreath at the memorial which honours the supreme sacrifice made by the Indian test crew and scientists while undertaking flight testing. As part of his tour, he was briefed on the ongoing trials at ASTE and flight test training activities of AFTPS alongside aspects of the organisational roles of these unique institutions of IAF.

Vice Admiral Gurcharan Singh assumed the appointment of Commandant, National Defence Academy on 25 May 2024 from Vice Admiral Ajay Kocchar. An alumnus of the National Defence Academy (Khadakwasla), he was commissioned into the Indian Navy on 01 Jul 1990.
The Flag Officer has held several appointments, both afloat and ashore. As a specialist in Gunnery and Missiles, he has served onboard Indian Naval Ships Ranjit and Prahar. He holds the distinction of being part of the commissioning crew of three Indian constructed warships, viz, INS Brahmaputra/ as Gunnery Officer, INS Shivalik/ as Executive Officer, and INS Kochi/ as Commanding Officer. He has also commanded INS Vidyut & INS Khukri. He has been an instructor at INS Dronacharya (Gunnery School) and the Deputy Commandant of Naval War College, Goa.

The Passing out Parade (POP) of 106 Indian Naval Academy Course, 36 & 37 Naval Orientation Courses (Extended), 38 Naval Orientation Course (Regular) and 39 Naval Orientation Course (Coast Guard & Foreign) was held at Indian Naval Academy (INA), Ezhimala on 25 May 2024. The parade was reviewed by Air Chief Marshal V R Chaudhari. 216 trainees including 34 women trainees and 10 from friendly foreign countries passed out with flying colours, marking the culmination of their ab-initio training. The event was also attended by Vice Admiral V Srinivas, Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief Southern Naval Command and Vice Admiral Vineet McCarty, Commandant, INA.
