Indian Army has started receiving the Russian AK-203 assault rifles manufactured by Indo-Russian Rifles Private Limited in Raebareli.

So far, 27000 rifles have been delivered under the 2021 Indo-Russia deal ~ Rs 5000 Cr deal is to manufacture over 6.7 lakh AK-203 assault rifles.

First 70000 rifles will be manufactured with 5%-70% localisation, remaining will be manufactured with 100% localisation.

The CAS Air Chief Marshal VR Chaudhari inaugurated the IAF Emergency Medical Response System (EMRS) facility at the Command Hospital, Bengaluru on 21 May 24.

EMRS establishes a single pan-IAF Helpline, available 24x7 to serving IAF personnel and their dependents, through which expert medical guidance, rapid evacuation and definitive care will be expeditiously provided to medical emergencies. Based on the nature of emergency, the trained medical team of this helpline will ensure the fastest response from the nearest medical establishment.

Indian-origin entrepreneur and pilot Gopichand Thotakura made history by becoming the first Indian tourist (Civilian) to venture into space as part of Amazon founder Jeff Bezos' Blue Origin's NS-25 mission.

In a video posted on the official Instagram account of Blue Origin, Mr Thotakura can be seen showing a tiny Indian flag while in space.

Besides Gopi Thotakura, the astronaut crew included Mason Angel, Sylvain Chiron, Kenneth L. Hess, Carol Schaller, and former Air Force Captain Ed Dwight, who was selected by President John F. Kennedy in 1961 as the nation's first black astronaut candidate but never had the opportunity to fly.

The comprehensive cyber defence exercise was conducted by Defence Cyber Agency from 20 - 24 May 2024. It aims to further develop Cyber Defence Capability of all Cyber security organisations and promote synergy amongst all stakeholders. It focusses on enhancing collaboration and integration among participants from various military and prominent national organizations.

Indian Naval Ships Delhi, Shakti and Kiltan visited Manila, Philippines as part of Operational Deployment of the Indian Navy's Eastern Fleet to South China Sea. The visit demonstrated India's strong ties with Philippines and its commitment to further deepen the partnership.
