ISRO has achieved a major breakthrough in the Semicryogenic development programme with the first successful hot test of the intermediate configuration of the 2000kN Semicryogenic engine, designated as Power Head Test Article (PHTA) at ISRO Propulsion Complex, Mahendragiri. The PHTA test validated the integrated performance of all the engine systems like turbopumps, pre-burner, start-system, and control components except for the thrust chamber. ISRO is now closer to the much coveted technology of high thrust Semicryogenic propulsion system, which will enhance the payload of the LVM3 launch vehicle from 4 tonnes to more than 5 tonnes to GTO.
Force Motors Limited secured a contract to supply 2,978 Force Gurkha GS 4X4 800 kg Soft Top light vehicles to the Indian Defence Forces, a deal awarded by the Directorate General of Capability Development (CD-13/14).

These Light Strike Vehicles, designed for rugged terrains, feature best-in-class ground clearance, unmatched water-wading capacity, and an advanced 4Γ—4 system, supporting an 800 kg payload.

The delivery will occur in phases over three years, with the first tranche expected soon.

This order enhances Force Motors’ legacy, begun in 1958, of providing military vehicles like the Matador and Shaktiman, aligning with India’s β€œMake in India” initiative.
Conference on 'Helicopter Operations in North East India' is being held at Air force Station, Bagdogra from 28 to 29 March 25.

During the conference today, lessons learnt from the past for joint environment operations and ways to enhance the envelope of helicopter operations were discussed among veteran and serving officers of the Indian Army and Indian Air Force.
