The Combined Graduation Parade (CGP) was held at the Air Force Academy (AFA) Dundigal Hyderabad on 14 Dec 2024, marking successful culmination of the pre-commissioning training of flight cadets of Flying and Ground duty branches of the Indian Air Force (IAF).

Air Chief Marshal AP Singh, Chief of the Air Staff (CAS), was the Reviewing Officer (RO) of the parade, who conferred the President's Commission to the graduating flight cadets.

A total of 204 cadets graduated today, which included 178 men and 26 women.

1971 War surrender painting installed at The Manekshaw Centre.

On the occasion of Vijay Diwas, General Upendra Dwivedi COAS, along with the President AWWA, Mrs Sunita Dwivedi, installed the iconic 1971 surrender painting to its most befitting place, The Manekshaw Centre, named after the Architect and the Hero of 1971 War, Field Marshal Sam Manekshaw. Senior hierarchy & serving officers of Indian Army and Veterans were present on this occasion.

This painting is a testament to one of the greatest military victories of Indian Armed Forces and the commitment of India for justice & humanity for all. Its placement at the Manekshaw Centre New Delhi will benefit a large audience due to substantial footfall of diverse audience & dignitaries from India and abroad at this venue.

β€˜Steel Cutting’ ceremony of the first ship of Next Generation Missile Vessel (NGMV), was held at Cochin Shipyard Limited (CSL) on 16 Dec 24, Kochi in the presence of Cmde S Parthiban, Warship Production Superintendent, Kochi. Contract for construction of six NGMVs was concluded with CSL in March 2023 with induction of the ships in the Indian Navy planned from 2027 onwards.

The NGMVs are planned to be installed with state-of-the-art weapon and sensors, which would significantly enhance the combat capabilities of the Indian Navy as a Future Ready and Combat Ready Force. The construction of the ships reinforces India’s commitment to build a strong and modern Navy, capable of operating in the complex maritime environment of the Indian Ocean Region.
