Today is a special day for this channel 🥰

Happy 7th Anniversary. 🥳

7 years ago, one random late night, close to midnight, I thought of an idea to create a channel.

Back then Telegram was just a basic chat app and there weren't many Ethiopian users and there weren't many channels.

I remember I sat there thinking what I should name it but calling it Dagmawi Babi just felt so right. That version of me never realized what I kick started.

Now Dagmawi Babi is a name recognized all through out tech communities, in start ups, universities and schools, in churches and maybe even elsewhere too.

So much has happened since 2018. I started off trying to make content people usually liked. With vines and music, then I got tired and started showing a piece of me. Started sharing my thoughts and feelings. Then grew a bit more to share my projects and resources.

Throughout the years I've posted so many controversial things but things changed, I changed. I matured to be better than each passing year. Eventually I became a Christian and I let that pour into this channel too. And that let God reach so many hearts too.

This channel and brand has been the start of so many things for me. It gave me opportunities, it sharpened my thinking, eventually let me start a charity, then a podcast, then a digital missionary platform and just do much more.

When I started this, and specially when I focused on making it a personal channel no one really cared and no one else had started something similar. But one by one the community started growing, more and more creators joined in and I wasn't alone anymore. For that I'm so grateful of all the wonderful creators who've been supporting me every since, contributing code, sharing my projects and just being a friend too.

Most of all, God has blessed me with all of you. I am so grateful for everyone of you that is here throughout my journey. I am so grateful of all the smiles I see whenever we meet, all the thousands of texts I get in a month, all the pictures we took together, all the events we met up in and so much more.

I can't wait for so many more years of Dagmawi Babi. Happy birthday everyone! 🥰✨
