"The voice from the telescreen was still pouring forth its tale of prisoners and booty and slaughter, but the shouting outside had died down a little. The waiters were turning back to their work. One of them approached with the gin bottle. Winston, sitting in a blissful dream, paid no attention as his glass was filled up.
He was not running or cheering any longer. He was back in the Ministry of Love, with everything forgiven, his soul white as snow. He was in the public dock, confessing everything, implicating everybody. He was walking down the white-tiled corridor, withthe feeling of walking in sunlight, and an armed guard at his back. The longhoped-for bullet was entering his brain.
He gazed up at the enormous face. Forty years it had taken him to learn what kind of smile was hidden beneath the dark moustache. O cruel, needless misunderstanding! O stubborn, self-willed exile from the loving breast! Two gin-scented tears trickled down the sides of his nose. But it was all right, everything was all right, the struggle was finished. He had won the victory over himself. He loved Big Brother."
Taunts me!🥶 😰 🤕

Not as great as the book, but something to adore after you're done reading.

For anyone planning to read Jordan Peterson's books. You first have to listen to him talk.
Attend one of his lectures or podcasts and get comfortable with the way he talks, cause he literally writes like speech. So unless you know his way of talking reading is going to be annoyingly hard.
But if you know how he talks then reading will just be like listening to an audiobook lol.
Also he involves some religion into it, which for the most part is either a hit or a miss. Which's frustrating cause he keeps building up cases to completely miss the point. (But I don't blame him, he wasn't informed deeply about Christianity as much when he wrote this book)
BUT I loved the book. It has sooo much beautiful and healthy advice proven with examples and research in it. HIGHLY recommend you to read it. I had a blast, I was laughing and more.

Crime & Punishment is probably going to depress the hell out of you. I have not read anything as sad and as psychologically depressing as this.
For me, the main storyline was enough to torment me. But the book has soooo many more branching stories that go well into the depth of their sorrow.
I mean no wonder psychologists love this book. Highly NOT recommended. Keep your sanity.
