Communities

This is a major update 🎉

Here are the features
1. You can now create your own communities

2. You can set introduction messages, rules of the community and FAQ to show before people join your community

3. You can set communities public if you want others to discover them or private if you want to manage who joins your community

4. Just like private chats, you can chat in communities

5. With a click of a button you can discover all the public communities you can join and chat in

6. You can delete communities you created, leave communities you don't like and join those you're interested in

7. While browsing you can check out details of communities like members list and so on.

Reddit Search Category 👽 🟠

You can now browse your favorite subreddits from Philomena.

The following are the new features

0. No Ads. You can browse reddit with no distraction of ads getting in between posts.

1. You can search for any subreddit you want and it's content will be present to you smoothly

2. You can swipe and browse through a preset list of aesthetic and graphical subreddits

3. You can sort by time (hourly, daily, monthly, yearly) and by ratings (new, rising, top) to filter out your feed to your needs

4. The minimal layout gives distraction free browsing experience by only showing you the content you want. So if you're an artist for example, you can just get inspired as it presents only the content to you.

I have to say that I've had much more fun browsing my favorite subreddits this way. And the aesthetics and theming is genuinely beautiful and comfortable.

Choosing Search Categories

This's one of the suggestions you guys asked for and it's now implemented.

So just like you suggested; Instead of always having all the search categories, you can choose which ones you'd like to use and pin them and all the rest will hide away to better customize your search and add to the minimal design.

Each category is color coded for aesthetics and better identification.

Music Streaming

On this update Philomena gets a music streaming service that's integrated so seamlessly. 🎶

It includes these features

1. Access an ever growing music library of songs and stream them on the go.

2. Classifies songs into sections like newly released songs, albums, singles, EPs and artists to fine tune the feed.

3. Designed to be non-invasive so you can browse and scroll your feed while the music player converts into a tiny music dock at the bottom of the screen

4. Adaptive theming, both the full screen music player and the mini dock station change their theme according to the dominant and vibrant colors of the current album art.

5. All the basic controls of a music player, like pausing, playing, looping, shuffling playlists and seeking are currently implemented.

Minor Changes

1. The place of Chats and Search is switched and the layout makes more sense

2. You can stay logged in. This was a minor feature that I delayed so long. But now the app just logs you in as soon as you open it

3. Most content is cached. So there will be less pinging the server and less data and time spent loading old content.

4. Some performance improvements. Along with UI polishing.

Podcasts 🎉

This's one of the major features. You can now listen to podcasts right there in the app.

Features
1. Streaming different podcasts while browsing the app

2. All podcasts show information about the production, description, number of episodes, length of episodes and specific descriptions for each episode.

3. You can skip to the next episode, you can get back to the previous, you can forward 30 seconds, rewind 10. Loops and much more.

4. You can subscribe and unsubscribe to podcasts so they can show up on your feed more. And you can turn their notifications on or off to get notified when new episodes are released.
