How To Decline a Job Interview- 3 Formats.
When you realize you are no longer interested in a job role and wish to discontinue the interview process, there are better ways of communicating with recruiting specialist or hiring managers than “ghosting” them on interview day.
It’s not a crime to choose another offer or lose interest altogether. Remember you need to be professional and think of your personal brand.
There are 3 things to consider when you want to decline an interview, viz a viz :
👉🏽Timing - Don’t wait till the day of interview to send decline mail or absolutely ignore appointment and not pick up calls.
👉🏽Tone- Keep it respectful, simple and clear.
👉🏽Detail- Let it be concise and short. No need to compare and state that you got a better offer or disparage the organization.
This is because you don’t want to shut the door to future opportunities.
