The agreement, formalized at the MoE office in Arat Kilo, was signed by the state minister for Higher Education, H.E. Mr. #Kora_Tushune, and W/ro #Meseret_Desta, Vice President of AFLEX, with the attendance of the Minister of Education, the President of AFLEX, and other senior officials from the institutions.

The signed document focuses on producing competent and ethical citizens while enhancing educational leadership nationwide.

#Professor_Birhanu_Nega, the Minister of Education, emphasized the importance of competency in public sector leadership. He stated, "To perform efficiently, leadership in the public sector should be based on competency, not only on representation. Our reform aims to achieve this in higher education, and today's MoU is a step towards achieving that."

AFLEX President, Mr. #Zadig_Abreha, highlighted the urgent need for effective leadership in the ongoing educational reforms. He said, "Our educational system has a problem that needs a solution. The Ministry of Education is undergoing significant reform, and to make this reform effective, competent leadership is necessary. So, we will do this together, as leadership development is what we do at AFLEX.” He also remarked that the signed MoU has come after months of discussions between us.
The memorandum highlights shared goals, including improving educational access, fostering leadership, and promoting technology and innovation within the academic sector.

Both parties are committed to building capacity and fostering strategic partnerships to drive significant progress in Ethiopia’s education landscape.
