Volunteers who go on a daily basis to hospitals and I-Shine coordinators were treated with a beautiful weekend at Camp Simcha .
Throughout Shabbos, volunteers enjoyed uplifting davening ,singing and delicious meals, catered by the Friedman brothers. They were able to relax and share stories and thoughts inspiring each other to go on with the holy work.
On Shabbos day, between the kiddush and the Seuda, we had Chai Lifeline Program Director, Nachman Maimon, Achim B'yachad - Chai Lifeline Coordintor Hershy Katz, and Assistant Respite Coordinator Yoely Gefen, discuss with the volunteers how to handle different situations in the hospital and dealing with those children in general.
On Motzei Shabbos, a lavish Melava Malka was prepared and a live performance of world renowned badchen and entertainer Yoely Lebovits who participated the entire shabbos. The evening was filled with laughter and emotion while Yoely went from cracking hilarious jokes to emotional thoughts and stories expressing what a tremendous zechia the Achim B'Yachad volunteers have by lighting up those children and families.
To conclude, we had our Camp Simcha Division Head, Aron Yossi Spielman introduce to the new volunteers what Camp Simcha is all about and how we can elevate this upcoming summer to give the kids the best time ever.
Many thanks to the Camp Simcha management for opening up the doors and giving the volunteers such an enjoyable weekend.
