The annual Bein Hazmanim teen siblings Nesia took place right after Pesach before the beginning of the new zman. The Nesia was led by Reb Yoel Shmeya (I-Shine Williamsburg Coordinator) and special guest Reb Hershel Fekete.

Over 60 Yeshiva bochurim (Teens) arrived in the morning at Beth Israel Shul in New Heaven, Connecticut where Rabbi Mendel Hecht Shlit”a, Rav of the shul welcomed the bochurim with divrei chizuk and recounted the history of the Beth Israel Shul. Then the bochurim with the volunteers each picked a daf and learned together Meseches Brochos. It was a very moving scene where they all sat together to learn and finish a Mesechta for a refuah shleima for their siblings. Reb Hershel Fekete, made the siyum followed by a seudus mitzvah. A heartwarming kumzits was held with wonder boy Heshy Falkowitz. Then they were off to IT Adventure Ropes Course where they were climbing, flying and basically letting off some steam. The boys went home with smiles and chizuk to last until the next bein hazmanim!
Active respite volunteers and I-Shine coordinators were treated with a beautiful weekend at Camp Simcha.

The weekend started with an exquisite BBQ by Zevy Weber - oh!Vents followed by a Feldman - Langzam performance that held the crowd in laughter. We then had our Camp Simcha Division Head, Aron Yossi Spielman introduce Camp Simcha to the new volunteers and how we can elevate this upcoming summer to give the kids the best time ever.
After Kabolas Shabbos, Achim B'yachad - Chai Lifeline Coordintor, Hershy Katz welcomed the volunteers, coordinators and donors, and thanking them in the name of all Achim B'yachad - Chai Lifeline families for the countless hours and their devotion. A Father of a recent cancer surviver addressed the crowd, expressing his enormous gratitude and sharing the effect that Achim B’yachad volunteers have on a parent.

Throughout Shabbos, volunteers enjoyed uplifting davening ,singing and delicious meals, catered by the Lazer Friedman - Chateau 51. They were able to relax and share stories and thoughts inspiring each other to go on with the holy work. On Shabbos day, after the kiddush we had a respite discussion for volunteers led by Respite Coordinators Yoely Gefen and Shmily Witroel, on how to handle different situations in the hospital and dealing with those children in general. For I-Shine coordinators and volunteers we had a separate discussion on how to enhance the all year round sibling programs. The weekend came to an end on Motzei Shabbos with a beautiful uplifting Havdalah led by Reb Yoel Shmeya (I-Shine Williamsburg Coordinator) accompanied by the Karpen brothers followed by a lavish Melava Malka.

Many thanks to the Camp Simcha management for opening up the doors and giving the volunteers such an enjoyable weekend.
