On March 28 at 12:51 PM, a devastating earthquake struck, causing the deaths of thousands and widespread destruction. While people are suffering from this natural disaster, the military junta has not only failed to carry out rescue and relief operations but is also blocking and obstructing domestic and international rescue workers. Meanwhile, the junta continues its airstrikes on earthquake-affected regions and throughout Burma.

At this critical moment, we people only have each other to rely on. We urge the international community, resistance forces and people of Myanmar to support the earthquake victims as much as possible while continuing our fight for the complete eradication of the military dictatorship.

Report Back on Earthquake Relief and Support Efforts

In a powerful act of unity, the All Burma Federation of Student Unions (ABFSU), Yangon University Students' Union, Students Without Borders Campaign, All Burma Women’s Union (ABWU), All Burma Young Poets’ Union (ABYPU), Sisters 2 Sisters, and the Myanmar Emergency Response Coordination Unit (MERCU), together with local civil society organizations on the ground, joined forces to deliver life-saving support to our people.

Across the earthquake affected regions of Sagaing, Mandalay, Tada-U, Taungoo, Naypyidaw, Pyinmana, Yamethin, and Pyawbwe, we reached around 1,000 households or about 4,000 to 5,000 people, with urgently needed relief supplies, valued at approximately 120 million kyats.

This mission of care and resistance would not have been possible without the unwavering support of the people. Those who organized, mobilized, donated, and stood with us. On behalf of the affected families, the ABFSU expresses deep revolutionary gratitude to all who answered this call. In times of crisis, the people's unity is our greatest strength.
