Evening Flufftails!

We hope those of you who were at ConFuzzled had a great time and a safe journey home.

Today, we're here with news! Remember the adorable ferrets from last year? We're pleased to announce that Little Paws Ferret Rescue will return as the charity for Wild North 2024! They have been eager to return since last year and are looking forward to seeing you all again!

~Twizell
To all those who are registered for Wild North 2024. Some of you have yet to fill in the duties you would like to volunteer for the con.

Please refer to our initial registration announcement for details on the available duties. Knowing the numbers for each will assist us in preparing the convention for everyone: https://t.me/WildNorthUD/228

Thank you

Hey Flufftails!

Don't forget to show us your creativity this year. Time is fast approaching our deadlines and we want as many of our talented fluffs highlighted as possible!

Whether it's artworks, poems, stories, or songs, we would love to give you a spot in our 2024 conbook!

Be sure to contact us (either by email or @WildNorthComms) if you're interested no later than Sunday 30th June, so we have you in mind before we get to print.

And remember, if you need inspiration, our theme for 2024 is The Enchanted Forest, we also have lots of great tips and resources here: https://www.wildnorth.uk/documents/art-and-stories-wanted

~Twizell
Evening Flufftails,

This is another reminder that we have one space remaining for the Trading Post. If you wish to sell your wares, please give us an email (events@wildnorth.uk) or message on Telegram (@WildNorthComms) as soon as possible.

Thank you.
Evening Flufftails,

Advance train tickets are available for September for all operators in northern England. This includes Northern (the train company serving Haltwhistle, our nearest station), Avanti West Coast, and LNER. Roughly now would be the best time to look for train tickets, so if you see an affordable fare, go for it! Remember to buy or use a railcard (if eligible) to get your tickets for a discount.

https://www.northernrailway.co.uk/tickets/advance

We are working behind the scenes to arrange transport between Haltwhistle station and Featherstone Castle.

The convention is a little over eight weeks away. I hope you are all as excited as we are!

~Twizell

P.S.
If you’re joining us for the Beamish Open Air Museum trip after the con, please note that Chester-le-Street is the nearest station. You should book your return train from Chester-le-Street: we will not be returning to the Haltwhistle area after Beamish.
We've received news that Dragoneer, the owner of the website FurAffinity, had passed away earlier this morning.

The organising staff at Wild North all wish to give our condolences to his friends and family in these difficult times, and give our thanks to Dragoneer for helping our community grow to what it is today.
Attention Flufftails,

We are proud to reveal our official T-shirt design! Special thanks to @FortunataFox for their incredible work.

Attendees, if you wish to get this year's shirt and haven’t ordered one yet, log back into the registration system, set your size, and make the payment.

If you'd like a T-shirt, you have until Saturday, 31 August, when we close for registration changes, to update your details.

While at it, please double-check that your personal information, including volunteering and dietary requirements, is up-to-date.

You can access the registration page here on our website: https://www.wildnorth.uk/registration-page

Evening Flufftails!

The time has come for the Wild North Kubb Tournament!

For those unfamiliar with Kubb, it’s an old Viking lawn game of knocking down your opponent's towers before finishing the king. (Here's a link with a quick rule overview https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KtqVqrcVgVY )

This is a team event, and we're asking interested people to sign up ahead of the con.

We need at least four teams of three players, and yes, fursuiters can play and are actively encouraged! (Though we do have a limit of one suiter per team.)

So gather your raiding party, pillage your enemies' towers and topple the king!

You can email us at events@wildnorth.uk or send a message to @WildNorthComms with team sign-ups, and we'll get you on the roster. We look forward to some exciting team names!

Let’s see your battle skills!

~Twizell
Evening Flufftails!

Do you like swords? @Longswordfencer is back with Sword and Shield Workshops and a rip-roaring Tug-of-War contest.

If you want to participate in one of the several slots running throughout Saturday and Sunday, please register here:

Swords: https://ManchesterSchoolofArms.as.me/?appointmentType=66974358

Tug-of-War: https://ManchesterSchoolofArms.as.me/?appointmentType=67808532

The signup system is through @Longswordfencer's Club (Manchester School of Arms) and includes several disclaimers and physical readiness questionnaires. This is necessary for public liability insurance. Further information about the very furry, trans, and LGBTQA+-friendly club can be found at manchesterswords.co.uk.
Just to let you know, spaces are limited, so booking early is advised.

All equipment will be provided!
Karaoke Songs by Artist.xlsx

Hey Flufftails!

One of our fun events taking place for the weekend will be a night of karaoke! Be sure to get your vocal cords ready to sing some tunes!

Have a look at the song list to see what's available.

Cannot find a particular song you'd like to sing at night? Do not fret! You can contact @Greskilvulf and provide him with the song/artist, and he can do his best to find what you're looking for and add it to the list in time for Wild North!

Looking forward to it!

Last chance to update your personal details. This info will be locked down in the next few hours. So if you haven't already, give your reg another check.

Thank you everyone who has volunteered for a duty. Wild North is a collective effort - we make this event happen together. If you're yet to volunteer for a duty, or to help out another way, please put your name forward on the reg system. Many thanks! ~Silverley
Evening Flufftails,

As some of you know, Wild North allows attendees to bring weapons outside the castle grounds and arrange mock fights for photography.

Please fill out the form below for those who wish to bring their prop weapons or arrange a mock fight. Please read the excerpt of the code of conduct in the form in case you are unsure if your type of weapon is allowed.

If you still need clarification, please email or message @WildNorthComms with a description and/or a photo of your prop weapon.
