In a month, the collection of signatures for "Stop (((5G))) Stay Connected but Protected" will begin.
18 EU countries support this European Citizens' Initiative (ECI).

Please share this message and get as many people to sign when the petition opens on March 1. 🙂

The importance of this ECI grows day by day, as it becomes increasingly important to make the EU and member states rethink the 5G rollout.

The European Court of Audit has on 24 Jan. issued a press release with the headline "5G in the EU needs a booster", which however mentions major difficulties and challenges in relation to how data security should be handled. https://www.eca.europa.eu/en/Pages/NewsItem.aspx?nid=16338

Bear in mind that 5G has never been either health nor environmentally approved.
And more important - the European public has not been involved in the roll-out decisions in violation of the Aarhus Convention. https://ec.europa.eu/environment/aarhus/
All the Satellites – including 5G - in Space Could Crack Open the Ozone Layer

“Stop (((5G))) Stay Connected but Protected” call for stronger regulation of satellites mega-constellations

“We have 54 tonnes (60 tons) of meteoroid material coming in every day,” lead study author Aaron Boley told Space.com. “With the first generation of Starlink, we can expect about 2 tonnes (2.2 tons) of dead satellites reentering Earth’s atmosphere daily. But meteoroids are mostly rock, which is made of oxygen, magnesium and silicon. These satellites are mostly aluminum, which the meteoroids contain only in a very small amount, about 1%.”

As aluminum burns, it can react with ozone in the air to form aluminum oxide, thereby depleting the naturally protective supply of ozone in the atmosphere. And that could alter Earth’s climate. The atmosphere can absorb a small amount of these chemicals without ill effect, but with tens of thousands of satellites in play, the quantities will naturally go up.

That’s in addition to the ozone damage done by each rocket launch to put satellites into low earth orbit (LEO). “Rockets threaten the ozone layer by depositing chemicals directly into the stratosphere, with solid-fuelled rockets causing the most damage because of the hydrogen chloride and alumina they contain,” the researchers write.

So, where does all of this leave us?
First, the authors say, it is an inadequate policy governing end-of-life rules for satellites. Something stricter would take into account all the factors associated with, like with Elon Musk’s Starlink megaconstellation, a huge array of satellites that are made to frequently be replaced.

Second, the Inter-Agency Space Debris Coordination Committee recommends, but cannot enforce, that satellites include collision avoidance and deorbiting technologies that add cost. It’s easy to see how that cost stacks when tens of thousands of satellites are planned at once.

SpaceX is putting birds and other wildlife at risk

The SpaceX facility in Boca Chica is surrounded by federal and state public lands used by hundreds of thousands of individual birds of many different species throughout the year – from the federally Threatened Piping Plover and Red Knot to the Endangered Northern Aplomado Falcon. These lands also support several species of sea turtle and mammals listed under the Endangered Species Act.

Despite the area's ecological importance, SpaceX has conducted and expanded operations with little oversight by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), and without a comprehensive study of impacts on wildlife and the environment.

Help protect birds in Boca Chica: Please demand a full-scale, in-depth analysis of SpaceX's environmental impacts.
This request is in line with our Proposal 18 of our European Citizens' Initiative

In addition that to a total of one million votes needs to be collected withing a year, seven countries need to reach the minimum target. If all EU countries reach the minimum target, then only half a million votes are be collected.
