We call for effective protections for all of us against radiation from the smart meters being introduced into citizens’ homes.

However, radiation is not the only risk. Recent news articles about wireless smart meters highlight their vulnerabilities to hacking, and their abuse by service suppliers cutting people off as they please.

We believe it is critically important to protect human bio-integrity (proposal 9), to prioritise low energy solutions (proposal 12) and to protect citizens from cybercrime (proposal 20).

Press Release - A major event took place when the newly formed NGO, Europeans for Safe Connections (ESC), on Tuesday 7 Feb visited the European Parliament.

In his presentation ESC board member Mr. Rob van der Boom (The Netherlands) made this important conclusion: "We have unacceptable side effects of radiofrequencies on the health of people and on nature as well. The current rules of the EU do not take these into consideration."

Also the rapporteur of Resolution 1815 about the risks of EMF Jean Huss (Luxembourg) is very dissapointed with the direction of the EU: "The direction in the European Commission and the member states it's just an institution taking into account solely the financial economic interests and ignoring health issues."

Final statement from MEP Michele Rivasi (Greens/EFA) (France): "Please promise that you will never again launch a technology without an impact assessment, so never do that again. We have to reintroduce our citizens' voice in the debate ... we have built Europe based on people, based on peace, based on wellbeing, based on the future."

Europeans for Safe Connections is on the way to becoming a big umbrella organisation with a strong message about the side effects of wireless communication and digitalisation on society and nature. https://signstop5g.eu/en/news/european-citizens-travel-to-the-eu-parliament-to-present-an-unpopular-issue

This will be our last news letter to you before we close down the ECI on March 1.

We are really happy that you have followed us and supported us in this last year.

Thanks to you we have been able to reach people in the far corners of the EU, and we have been able to put 5G and microwaves on the European agenda.

The game of the ECI is now over, but like the bird Phoenix we rise from the ashes and start a brand-new project.

This new project is called Europeans for Safe Connections (ESC) and is a collaboration of national and international organisations that are concerned about negative effects of the modern communication technologies.

The ESC will present proposals to our politicians to make the wireless technologies safer and to reduce exposure to EMFs – for the benefit of individuals, society, flora and fauna.https://signstop5g.eu/en/news-letters/we-are-sad-to-leave-you

Are you ready for a seminar directly from The Royal Society of Medicine in London? On Wednesday 14 July 2023 you have the chance to hear expert explanations of how today's limit values are failing.

What is particularly interesting about this meeting is the following:

- You will receive presentations explaining why the ICNIRP guidelines do not meet the targets as a basis for health and environmental protection, and produce health and environmental damage instead of protecting against them.
- One of the participants, James Lin, is a former ICNIRP member. He is now accusing ICNIRP of irresponsible activities.
- The rest of the panel are also among the outstanding professionals in the field.

The seminar is organized by ICBE-EMF, a new organization of medical and biological expertise that challenges ICNIRP, this physicist- and industry-dominated foundation that still delivers the broad guidelines.

You must register in advance: https://icbe-emf.org/activities/
