“Tough as this job may be, completing my daily tasks is very satisfying as I know that my role helps to keep Singapore clean,” said Mr Chan Cher Huat, a driver with Sembwaste. Our hawkers have been working tirelessly in the face of the COVID-19 pandemic, to bring us our favourite food. As part of our efforts to provide timely support during this period, NEA is providing a one-time $500 cash assistance to stallholders. www.nea.gov.sg/our-services/hawker-management/information-for-stallholders
Contact tracing plays a vital role in the fight against COVID-19. NEA and Town Councils have been fencing up #OurHawkerCentres & markets, so that SafeEntry access can be implemented, to ensure the safety and well-being of our stallholders and patrons.

Don’t forget to check in with your TraceTogether app or token. Share this message with your family and friends, and remind them to check in and out at every visit. Do visit our website (www.nea.gov.sg/our-services/hawker-management) beforehand to find out whether our hawker centres and markets are open. #SupportOurHawkers
High cleanliness and hygiene standards are some of the first lines of defence against public health threats. From 30 Jul 2021, the new environmental sanitation regime which introduces mandatory baseline environmental sanitation standards will be rolled out progressively at higher-risk premises with immuno-vulnerable occupants and at premises with high footfall. With the recent COVID-19 cases and clusters at markets and hawker centres, we have implemented TraceTogether-only SafeEntry at these premises, to ensure the safety and well-being of our stallholders and patrons. While some may think it’s troublesome, it is critical in facilitating contact tracing so that potential transmission at these premises can be curbed.

Together with Town Councils, we have completed fencing up the premises, and are progressively deploying personnel to assist with SafeEntry check-in.

Do share these tips with your family and friends, and remind them to check in with the TraceTogether App or Token at every visit. More info at https://go.gov.sg/enhanced-smm-markets-hcs

We are very glad that after disinfection and thorough deep cleaning, Hong Lim Market & Food Centre, and Chong Boon Market & Food Centre will reopen on 3 Aug 2021. MOH had announced on 16 & 17 Jul respectively that these centres would be closed to members of the public for 2 weeks. This was to break the chain of transmission and enable deep cleaning of the premises.

The stallholders are currently preparing for the resumption of business operations and bringing in their goods and supplies. If you live near these markets and hawker centres, do drop by to patronise the stalls! Mandatory TraceTogether-only SafeEntry is also in place when these centres reopen to facilitate any contact tracing efforts. www.facebook.com/NEASingapore/posts/2948595782028416
The Environmental Sanitation Regime, which introduces mandatory baseline standards for specified premises, has been implemented for eldercare facilities. Don’t forget to check on the unused plant pots you may have lying around. These pots are hotbeds for mosquito breeding, and all that mosquitoes need is a 20 cent-sized drop of water to breed.

If you frequent Chong Pang Market or Block 92 Whampoa Drive (Market), you’ll be glad to know that they’ll be reopening on 5 & 6 Aug 2021 respectively, after deep cleaning and disinfection.

Let’s continue to #SupportOurHawkers through takeaways or food delivery, and together keep #OurHawkerCulture going strong.

Yes, the revised cleaning workflow aims to ensure that the tray and crockery return stations are cleared, cleaned and sanitised quickly and efficiently, to prevent pest nuisance.

As our cleaners need time to adjust to the new workflow and manage their different tasks, do look for alternative tray and crockery return stations if the one nearest to you is full. Let’s continue to keep #OurHawkerCentres clean and safe. #ClearYourTable #ReturnYourTray #BinUsedTissues
