Submission of AMAP’s recommendations

The Active Mobility Advisory Panel (#AMAP) has submitted its recommendation for all bicycles to have handbrakes. This will help ensure that cyclists are able to stop safely in emergencies.

🚧 Early closures and late openings on the Thomson-East Coast Line 1 (#TEL1) will be extended till 30 Apr 2021.

The additional engineering hours will be used to continue testing of the integrated trains and systems testing for #TEL2.

Acceptance of AMAP’s Recommendations

🚲 The Government has accepted the Active Mobility Advisory Panel’s (#AMAP) recommendation to mandate that all bicycles should have brakes when used on public paths and roads. This will help improve safety for both riders and path users. #SafetyFirst
