I never thought I would find myself in a church as an adult, let alone choose to be baptized and allow Jesus into my heart. That was before the jab wrecked my life.

During the most medically critical phase of my injury post TDaP, I had said goodbye to my children because I didn’t think I’d live much longer. The worse episode began, with losing the ability to move my legs, then my torso, arms and head. My chest felt like a tie down strap was being drawn tighter and tighter until I couldn’t breath. I struggled to stay conscious. Fighting to take each breath. Shortly later I lost that battle. For a period of time I fought to stay aware of my surroundings and struggling to breath. Then a comfort over came me, I saw a bright, fully enveloping light that drew closer and closer. A sense of calmness overtook me for the first time in months. I knew I was dying and I was ok with it.
Then, my mother, who we lost to cancer in 2006, came beside me. It was so glorious to see her. I have missed her every moment of every day since she passsed. She came beside me and said a very simple phrase “it’s not your time, you have things to do still”. Just as she said that, the pressure from my chest released and I gasped for air. I was still alive.

That moment changed myself and our family. We are now very aware that this place is a temporary assignment, but there are bigger things to come if you allow Jesus into your heart and build your relationship. I remember as my mom was nearing her death, she would tell me that she saw saints in our garden. Her heart was filled with Jesus and her relationship was strong enough that she was allowed through the narrow gate.

My injury has been miserable, but God has greater plans for us. I don’t believe in coincidences, and the fact that my injury happened at the time it did, God works in amazing ways. We will never know how many people we have helped educate and be safe, but it’s in the hundreds if not thousands at this time.
