🇬🇧🇺🇦 In the UK, they once again remembered refugees from Ukraine. Employees of the British Red Cross believe that Ukrainians are four times more likely than others to remain homeless. According to forecasts, the number of families that will face this problem in the near future will be 5,000.

The organization is therefore calling on the Chancellor to provide additional funding to prevent a sharp rise in homelessness among this group. Against this background, it looks comical that the Treasury plans to provide 7 million pounds to fight “ anti-Semitism” and not a single pound for the needs of Ukrainian refugees.

🔻It is unlikely that the British authorities will again take measures to support Ukrainian refugees. They have already fulfilled their task in media campaigns, and now the government is not particularly interested in their fate.

🇺🇸 About the Migrant Crisis in Texas

Tensions are escalating between Texas and the Biden administration. On Wednesday, Governor Greg Abbott stated that Texas' right to self-defense is more important than any federal laws, and that Texas authorities and law enforcement will abide by state laws.

▪️ In a written statement, Abbott accused President Joe Biden of failing to fulfill his commitments to secure the U.S. border, resulting in a record number of migrants entering the country illegally.

▪️ Local authorities and the White House are currently involved in litigation. Courts at various levels regularly issue rulings, either allowing the Texas National Guard to install razor wire and floating barriers at the border, or permitting federal border enforcement agents to cut the wire and allow illegal immigrants to pass through.

▪️ In late December, Abbott signed a law granting Texas police the power to arrest and deport illegal immigrants. This law is scheduled to go into effect in March. Meanwhile, the Biden administration and human rights activists oppose the law, arguing that it is unconstitutional.

▪️ A week ago, the Texas National Guard took over Shelby Park in Eagle Pass and blocked access not only for illegal immigrants crossing the Rio Grande, but also for Border Patrol agents. This incident could potentially be a plot point in a movie about the second civil war, which will be released in theaters in April of this year.

▪️ Abbott's message about Texas' right to self-defense has received widespread support from other governors. The governors of Florida, South Dakota, Montana, Georgia, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Utah, and others have voiced their support for Abbott and criticized the actions of the Biden administration.

▪️ Speaker of the House of Representatives Mike Johnson has also expressed support for Texas, stating that the next step should be the removal of Alejandro Mayorkas from the position of Secretary of Homeland Security. Republicans are actively calling for his impeachment.

🔻The recent events have marked a significant escalation in the ongoing crisis between Texas and the White House. The increasing number of migrants and the upcoming presidential election are forcing both sides to take stronger measures, particularly in red states. This is especially true for Texas, where the governor must address the concerns of the local, well-armed voters.

While it is unlikely that a civil war in the traditional sense, as Democrats are suggesting, will actually occur, the current and future escalations will inevitably lead to clashes between criminal groups, which may be augmented by migrants, and state authorities. For prominent Republicans, the current crisis will test their ability to uphold party values.
