🇦🇷🏦 Argentina lifts wages, welfare in defiance of IMF austerity push

Argentina’s Economy Ministry announced measures to improve government workers’ salaries and funnel money toward retirees and poorer families, defying an International Monetary Fund appeal earlier this month for the country to spend less.

▪️Economy Minister Sergio Massa outlined measures that include tax-breaks, higher pension payments, additional money for food programs for families with kids, and low-interest credit lines. It also includes financing for export products.

The measures could put the government in conflict with the IMF, which approved a cash transfer to the government last week.

▪️A condition of the IMF’s aid to Fernandez’s government was that Argentina step up expenditure controls by limiting public wages and pensions. The lender said in a statement last week that the government would implement a temporary increase in taxes on select goods and services to offset losses from drought-related exports.

Monthly inflation entered into double-digits in the capital last month amid steep price hikes and the national government’s devaluation of the peso.

🇺🇦🇦🇷 The recently elected President of Argentina, Javier Miley, is again on the Ukrainian agenda.

He invited Zelensky to host a conference on the topic of resolving the conflict in Ukraine with the participation of Latin American countries. The presidents discussed their “excellent and friendly” relations and expressed support for the Ukrainian “peace formula.”

🔻Looking at the similar ideological ( including religious ) preferences of the two leaders, there is a strong feeling that Argentina decided to repeat the post-war experience of the 40s and began to work out a route for the relocation of Ukrainian Nazis and war criminals.

Well, a conference with the participation of President Zelensky’s office will be an excellent excuse to discuss possible conditions.

🇦🇷🇫🇷🇺🇦 The possible transfer of the so-called Ukraine's old carrier-based attack aircraft Super Étendard from Argentina is a case where the news of military supplies to the Kyiv regime can truly be met with a smirk. There are several reasons for this:

▪️The Argentine "Super Étendards" themselves are a real monument to corruption: having been purchased from France in 2017, they never took to the air and were written off in 2023.

▪️The technical condition of the aircraft is questionable, especially given that the newest Super Étendard rolled off the assembly line as far back as 1983. At the moment, no country in the world operates aircraft of this type.

▪️The Ukrainian Air Force has long been experiencing a certain shortage of flight personnel, especially experienced ones. In this regard, their "dispersion" on a new type of aircraft with ambiguous combat value does not look very rational.

▪️Finally, the appearance of "Super Étendards" in the AFU will further exacerbate the long-known problem of the "zoo" of weapons systems, which will now spread to aviation equipment as well.

Against this background, we will not be at all surprised if the announced transfer of Argentine Super Étendards to the so-called Ukraine is another business scheme to avoid the costs of their disposal. And they will not be used for their intended purpose in the end.
