🇮🇱🇵🇸 Escalation in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict zone
Event timeline for April 6, 2024

In the northern part of the Gaza Strip, Israeli forces launched attacks on Palestinian targets once again. The areas of Jabaliya, Beit Lahiya, Az Zeitoun, Al-Shajaiya, and Tell al-Hawa were targeted.

In the southern region of the Palestinian enclave, Israeli troops conducted an operation near Al-Amal Hospital. The IDF announced the elimination of Hamas's deputy leader in Khan Yunis, Akram Abdel Rahman Hussein Salama.

Ongoing police operations by the Israel Defense Forces are taking place in the West Bank. Security forces have apprehended at least 45 individuals since yesterday, and a knife attack in the Old City of Jerusalem was successfully prevented.

In Syria, pro-Iranian groups carried out rocket attacks on American troop positions near the Conoco gas plant. Additionally, the “Islamic Resistance in Iraq” reported the deployment of a kamikaze drone targeting an oil refinery in Haifa, Israel.

🇮🇱🇵🇸 The Israeli army has announced the withdrawal of troops from Khan Yunis. The 98th Division has left the southern Gaza Strip after four months of fighting. Israeli journalists report that the troop withdrawal is unrelated to political disputes. The Israel Defense Forces will continue operations in Khan Yunis, but they will now focus on raiding activities.

Many observers of the conflict in the Gaza Strip are wondering: does this decision mean that the operation in Rafah has been canceled?

The answer is no. The withdrawal of troops from Khan Yunis is actually a sign of preparation for the operation. Previously, refugees stranded in the border zone with Egypt had no options due to the significant IDF presence in Khan Yunis, Bani Suheil, and other settlements. Now, masses of people can be redirected from the Egypt border to the northeast.

🔻Therefore, despite local Palestinian factions claiming victory and expulsion of the "occupiers," this indicates they are in the final stages of preparing for the operation in the "Philadelphia Corridor."

By dismantling some of the Hamas infrastructure in Khan Yunis and its surroundings, and weakening the military's firing capabilities, the IDF can now relocate crowds of refugees from Rafah to the now-devastated Khan Yunis. #Israel #Palestine
