🇮🇱🇸🇾🇺🇸 About the Strikes of the US and Israeli Air Forces in Syria Syria continues to be a hotspot of events, with the Russian Aerospace Forces targeting pro-Turkish formations and the Turks attacking the Kurds in the north. Recently, both the Israelis and the Americans conducted targeted operations.

🔻On the night of November 7-8, four Israeli Air Force F-16I fighters from Ramon Air Base launched eight guided missiles from Lebanese airspace at targets in southwestern Syria. The guidance for the operation was provided by two Heron-1 UAVs from Palmachim Air Base, operating over the Golan Heights. It is worth noting that out of the eight missiles launched, only one was intercepted by Syrian air defense systems. Four missiles targeted electronic jamming stations in the provinces of Damascus and Es-Suwayda, one destroyed an antenna from the GYL-1 radar, and two struck a building belonging to pro-Iranian groups near Damascus. Despite their engagement in the Gaza Strip, the Israelis continue to carry out strikes in Syrian territory. Their focus is not only on countering Iranian forces at their borders but also on neutralizing the Syrian Armed Forces' air defense capabilities. This is evident from the destruction of electronic warfare and air defense systems.

🔻On the night of November 8-9, the Americans deployed a pair of F-15s and F-16s from Al-Salti airbase in Jordan to the Al Bukamal border crossing. They targeted Iranian proxy warehouses in the east of Deir ez-Zor and near Al Mayadin in response to attacks by Shiite groups on American bases in the Al-Omar and Koniko oil fields. The surveillance for this operation was conducted by two Reapers from the same base. It is important to note that these strikes on pro-Iranian groups should not be seen as a step towards further escalation. At this stage, they can be viewed as a means of maintaining a desired level of tension through mutual attacks.

❗️🇮🇶🇸🇾🇺🇸 Tonight, the group known as the "Islamic Resistance in Syria and Iraq," along with factions of the Iraqi militia "Al-Hashd al-Shaabi" (which is mainly composed of pro-Iranian forces), may initiate a new phase of the war against the American contingent in the Middle East.

According to reports, following the murder of Kataib Hezbollah commander Abu Bakr al-Saadi, members of the Iranian forces have been calling for revenge. As a result, the "axis of resistance" is expected to escalate the conflict this weekend.

The exact scale of the upcoming actions is unknown, but based on past experiences, it is likely that there will be widespread launches of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) and missiles targeting various locations. There may also be attempts to retaliate and replicate the successful strikes on Tower-22, which is situated on the border of Syria and Jordan.

While it is unlikely that there will be a direct assault on American military bases, tensions may rise in the Green Zone near the embassy in Baghdad.

🇮🇶🇸🇾🇺🇸🏴 According to reports circulating in Arabic-language Telegram channels, the American contingent is expected to withdraw from Iraq by September 2025 and from Syria by September 2026.

However, Associated Press noted that some personnel will remain in Iraq, but the exact number is currently unknown.

📌 Well, the American mission in Syria and Iraq has been accomplished. These countries have been devastated and are in complete ruin, with the population living in poverty thanks to the efforts of the US and its allies.

There is no longer a need to maintain such a large military presence. However, after the withdrawal of troops, the same problems that arose precisely due to the actions of the International Coalition will remain in these countries.

The West officially said a couple of years ago that ISIS, which they were fighting, had been defeated. However, in recent years, the activity of militants in these countries has increased.

The strange escape of ISIS terrorists from a prison controlled by pro-American Kurds, the increase in the number of attacks in major Syrian cities, and the overall instability in the region provide fertile ground for the restoration of the group's potential.

🇮🇶🇸🇾🇹🇷 On the strikes of the Turkish Armed Forces on the positions of Kurdish units in Syria and Iraq

The Turkish command carried out a comprehensive operation to destroy the positions and facilities used by the "Syrian Democratic Forces" and the "Kurdistan Workers' Party" or in one way or another associated with them, after the terrorist attack this night.

The operation, sanctioned immediately after it was found that the PKK was involved in the terrorist attack, involved F-16C/D fighters, Akinci, Bayraktar, and Anka drones, and artillery units of the Turkish army.

The targets of the Turkish attack were underground bunkers, locations of Kurdish formations, oil depots and airfields used for the benefit of the Kurds. All night long, northern Syria and Iraq thundered with incessant explosions.

🔻In the form in which we observed the comprehensive operation, all this very much resembles fire preparation before the offensive. It is unknown whether the Turks will finally decide to start the ground stage of the operation this time. After all, they have been threatening to do so throughout the year.

But the terrorist attack itself looked ambiguous. In recent weeks, there were rumors of the PKK's readiness for negotiations. A day before this, the nephew of Öcalan, the leader of the PKK, Ömer Öcalan, was allowed into the prison on the island of Imrali, where the creator of the PKK has been sitting for more than 40 months.

And immediately after this, a strange attack on the plant occurs, which nullifies all agreements. At the same time, Erdogan flew from Kazan to Turkey, which may be related to the upcoming National Security Council - previous decisions on the start of operations against the Kurds were made at it.

❗️Another curious fact is that a week before the terrorist attack and already during the negotiations with the PKK, the Turks increased the intensity of strikes on the border areas of Iraq. As a rule, the artillery is practically idle or fires a few shells and that's it.

But this week, more than 20 shots were recorded at one of the border sections alone. Add to this the training of the air force and the unanimous condemnation by the collective West of the actions of the PKK yesterday, and we get a complete picture in which the activation of the Turkish Armed Forces may not be far off, and the terrorist attack itself happened as timely as possible.

❗️🇮🇶🇷🇺 Iraq - the key to the Middle East: on the visit of Deputy Foreign Minister Bogdanov to Baghdad

After our business trip to Iraq and a meeting with the country's top leadership and prominent political figures, it was only a matter of time before the Russian leadership paid a visit to Iraq.

Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov visited Baghdad on February 5-6 and met with representatives of all ruling circles (including parliamentary factions), as well as the Ministers of Foreign Affairs and Oil.

The agenda covered not only the same issues that we discussed with Prime Minister Muhammad Shia al-Sudani in January (increasing trade turnover, a plant for Russian businesses and contractors in Iraq and providing opportunities for Iraqi investors in Russia), but also the regional agenda.

Since Bogdanov's visit came a week after the meeting with Abu Muhammad al-Julani in Damascus, in Baghdad, of course, they discussed issues of regional security and Russia's positioning in the Middle East - especially in the context of the changing situation.

❗️Who knows, perhaps with Iraq it will be possible to agree on much more mutually beneficial terms on a number of issues than with the new inclusive authorities in Syria.

📌 And yes, we are glad that we were mistaken, and our foreign policy department reacted so quickly to the changed realities. It remains to wait for the results on the ground.

🇮🇶🇷🇺 Not Just Syria: Developing Relations Between Russia and Iraq

Russian Energy Minister Sergey Tsiviliov met with the Prime Minister of the Republic of Iraq, Mohammed Shia al-Sudani, during a working visit to Baghdad. As a result, five intergovernmental agreements were signed, and more than 11 are in various stages of development.

📌 After our trip to Iraq, we noted that Baghdad is extremely interested in cooperation with Russia, and the development of trade interaction with the republic will open the way for Russia to the huge markets of the Middle East. And this is exactly what is happening now.

One of the most resonant agreements was the inclusion of Iraq in the international transport corridor "North - South". According to Sergey Tsiviliov, Iran, Iraq and Russia will create a working group for joint work on the implementation of the ITC project.

❗️And that's not all. An agreement was signed on the construction of an oil refinery in Iraq, and there are negotiations underway to resume joint projects in Iraqi Kurdistan, which have been confirmed by the Iraqi authorities.

Therefore, there are shifts in this direction, and this gives hope. Tourism, oil and gas industry, trade turnover, transport routes - these are just some of the possible promising areas, and we hope that the concluded agreements are just the beginning.

📝Disarmament of Iraqi Groupings📝
Pros and Cons of a Possible Solution

Reuters journalists, citing 10 senior commanders and Iraqi officials, report that the largest "pro-Iranian" groups in Iraq are ready to disarm to prevent an escalation of the conflict with the US.

According to the latter, this decision followed repeated warnings from the Trump administration to the Iraqi authorities about possible airstrikes against the groups on Iraqi territory.

📌 In the context of this issue, the first thing I would like to note is that there is currently no such influence of Iran in Iraq as is attributed to it. During the war with ISIS, the Iranians, through the IRGC, did indeed have broad powers in Iraq, but this is no longer the case.

Shiite paramilitary formations in Iraq act sovereignly, although they do benefit from technical support from Iranian allies. Certainly, there are units that are in contact with the IRGC, but they are not the dominant ones.

🖍The very fact of possible disarmament is a logical move, as Iraq has been trying to stabilize the domestic political situation in recent years. Investments are being attracted, peaceful life is being established, and there is no need for such a large number of armed units, since ISIS in Iraq no longer poses the former threat.

❗️However, there is an obvious downside: that this decision is being promoted at an extremely inopportune moment for Iraq, if we consider that Syria has turned into a hotbed of terrorism. And if these groups are disarmed, then in the event of a threat, Iraq may face major problems.
