Passage:
A recent report commissioned by the National Union of Teachers has claimed that the combination of increased stress and excessive workload is the driver of increased staff illness, resignation and retirement. This toxic mix was said to be directly linked to reduced levels of morale, job satisfaction and perceptions of self-efficacy. The report was based largely on surveys of teachers, and suggested that Government intervention, in terms of policies designed to identify schools with poor results, was having a detrimental impact on these schools, which were often stigmatised.

Statement:
Teachers are more negative about their competence when they have a lot of extra work to do.

Answer: NOT GIVEN

Explanation:
The passage states that excessive workload mixed with increased stress levels leads to reduced perceptions of self-efficacy. It is not possible to tell from the passage whether extra work alone leads to more negative views of self-competence. Therefore, you cannot say whether the statement is true or false, based upon the information contained in the passage.
