IELTS is this incredible English test that can change lives. For real โค๏ธ

Owning to IELTS, I was able to apply and get admitted to GSOM SPbU (the best business school of Russia and Eastern Europe) and later - to CEMS (unique double-degree programme during which I studied at the St. Gallen University in Switzerland). Never paying for education!

But do you know that I didn't actually prepare for the test for months? In fact, I procrastinated a lot and only started preparation when it was 3.5 weeks left until the IELTS date! I was alone in my struggle. Had to look through dozens of resources to extract the ones worth using. Come up with several planners to find the one that worked.

But SO motivated to get into the business school of dreams for Master's that I didn't stop at anything, especially since there was no time to waste.

I recorded the call, it was incredible โค๏ธ

Thanks everyone for coming, I loved all the practice answers and I hope the feedback was insightful!
AFTER THE GROUP CALL...

I wanted to make some notes. We had such a great talk that it really makes sense to write down some ideas โœจ

1) We discussed methods of practicing fluency on your own with no partner. Participants shared their own ways:
โ€” record answers to practice questions, listen and note mistakes to work on them
โ€” talk in front of the mirror, practicing maintaining eye-contact for the exam
โ€” record yourself reading out loud paying attention to pronunciation features (intonations, stress)

2) We talked about struggles of IELTS preparation. Participants identified:
โ€” difficult to figure out what materials are worthy, too many sources out there
โ€”no detailed feedback with corrections to writing & speaking
โ€” difficult to understand your own weaknesses and build a study plan
โ€”challenging to find a study buddy and a supportive community
โ€” no support or no-one to seek advice from, ask questions
