The first idiom for the week is here.
Brain and heart wars are something special.
It's quite hard to make confessions. It might be the right day to try, don't you think so?
Guys, it's a long read time!

Alfred St Joseph, who works as a surgeon, answered on Quora to the following question:

What makes the human body special relative to other animal species?

- We walk upright. We are bipedal. Some primates can walk upright but this is not their exclusive mode of ambulation.

- We sweat in large amounts almost exclusively for thermoregulation. The greatest advantage of this is that we can run almost endlessly without having to rest to cool down. This was a great advantage whilst hunting animals for food. The prey would get exhausted and had to rest to cool down. We catch up and dinner is ready.

- Our brain's prefrontal cortex has developed so much that we are now capable of abstract thought. We possess imagination as a result. We don't need to make a liver and onion ice cream to know that it would taste bad.

- We are the only living beings that can make up stories, myths, legends, religion and the afterlife and have others believe too. We can defer pleasure for a greater reward even if that reward may never materialise.

- We can lie. Some of us very convincingly. We have recreational sex without the urge to procreate.

- We speak. In many languages. We can collaborate with people whom we have never met. We can raise armies of people willing to die for King and country, religion and ideology.

- We are self-aware to the greatest degree amongst all animals. We can introspect and critique our own thoughts, ideas, and actions.

- We can be diabolical and practice genocide merely to decimate a race or group of people based on hatred.

- We produce the finest art, music, theatre and there is no limit to our imagination.

- We often imbibe knowledge for no other purpose than that it appeals to us to do so. No other animal will perform a task without a very palpable reason or end result.

- We love we live we sigh we breathe we hate we cry we shout we fight we build we feel we weep we laugh we smile we sleep to repeat another day.
One more thing.
It's phrasal verbs time!
You'd better study the limits of your body before trying something unusual :)
Idioms will stop coming only over our dead bodies.
Body jokes are always so positive...
Who will get your back? :)

The last piece of body content is just in time to threaten you.
After having a nap we are here to share some brilliant idioms with you. This short week before holidays will be devoted to INSECTS!

Don't worry, they won't bite you.
We can't but agree.
One more idiom for you.

Happy Labour Day - and enjoy the holidays!
A new idiom to cheer you up.

Have fun!
While we are choosing a topic for a week after holidays - let's laugh at this cute sketch.
Друзья, сегодня нам бы хотелось обратиться к вам на русском.

Мы поздравляем Вас с праздником Великой Победы.

В нашей стране это один из самых искренних и любимых праздников. Мы желаем долгих лет ветеранам,  благодарим их за все. Желаем и вам всем - здоровья и благополучия.

9 мая навсегда останется праздником со слезами на глазах, напоминающих о том, что горести войны никогда больше не должны повторяться.

С праздником!
We want to congratulate all our english-speaking subscribers with the holiday of the Great Victory too.

In Russia it is one of the most sincere and beloved holidays. We wish long life to the veterans, thank them for everything. We wish you all health and prosperity.

May 9 will forever remain a holiday "with tears in the eyes", a reminder that the bitterness of war must never be repeated.

Congratulations!
