Disturbing development involving the man who challenged the gardaí who raided the church in Athlone last week in a video that went viral.
The National Party's Philip Dwyer is reporting that Pat Sweeney woke up last night at 3AM to find three gardaí at the end of his bed who detained him under section 12 of the Mental Treatment Act.
His children have been removed from his care and handed over to TUSLA.
Pat said he was assessed later in Longford Garda station and was passed medically fit.
He is now in Longford Garda station trying to get his children back.
Philip asks if you are near Longford town to please head to the Garda station to support him. (Philip made a mistake when he said Tullamore in the video)
