It was a cozy evening, I had just returned home from bible study when the words ' Call Mercy....' hit my inner ear.
The small voice prompted me, it was like a whisper yet so loud that I could not deny it. What did I know, I was just a young lad who began to cherish the voice of the Holy spirit and treasure the sudden outbursts of the Holy Ghost in my little meetings.
I held my small Huawei multi links phone about to dial and then something came up. Two days later the same scene played out.
It was seven days later I remembered to call. I called and the phone began to beep... Pooh ...pooh.....pooh ..pooh A strange voice answered the phone.
I said straightforwardly "Hello...Please I want to speak to Mercy, can you please give her the phone?" There was a brief moment of silence, I felt, the phone was being handed over to Mercy who I had seen a few weeks back. I had invited her for a crusade where the amazing Rev. Joe Olaiya was ministering.
We both watched as He ministered with so much boldness, His confidence was unwavering it seemed as if the Holy Spirit He spoke about was more real to him than He was to us at that time, because of the way the sick got healed and miracles happened, our favorite moment was when the crowd will echo in response to his loud voice when he instructs the ecstatic crowd to '...say, Jesus, I love you.' I planned to follow her up after that.

"Mercy had been ill and she passed on two days ago." was the answer that broke the silence.
When the Holy Ghost prompts you, quickly follow up on the prompting, don't be lazy, don't be an irresponsible believer.
Years ago I delayed with 7 days and Mercy died. I vowed never to delay even if it would cost me my name, honor, or pride.
What is the recent tugging of the Holy Ghost in your life? Why have you delayed, why are you resisting, it could be dangerous. What has He asked you to do?.

FATHER AND SON PART ONE
DEAR SON,
You say you're a son and your father doesn't know you and you don't know him. You're a stranger to his messages and his convictions. You have no idea of the vision. You're not in touch with the work of the ministry neither do you give towards it. You do not pray for him and his prayers are not channeled towards you.
If your being around him after a while doesn't add value and beautify his life and ministry in a way and you're not proud of him, you're always diplomatic about celebrating him, when You are not excited about his progress and he is not updated about yours. You are distant both in spirit and in the physical , neither are you accountable to him. You may call him father but we know who you are, you are not a son.
If you feel you're better than him, he is not your father he is your colleague. If his weaknesses are louder than his strength in your eyes, he is not your father, he is your competitor. If you feel safer talking to other ministers about your life instead of him, he's not your father he is your supervisor.
YOU ARE NOT A SON, YOU'RE AN ACQUAINTANCE. HE IS NOT YOUR FATHER , THERE WERE MANY SONS OF THE PROPHET, BUT WE ONLY KNOW ELISHA BECAUSE HE FOLLOWED.
DEAR SPIRITUAL SON,
If you're with your father just because of fame, publicity, connection and financial benefit , he is not your father, he is your benefactor. If he always points out your wrongs and never talks about your efforts, you're a slave not a son.
If you're afraid or uncomfortable to tell him about your secret, your mistakes and fears, He is not your father, He is your boss.
If he doesn't consider your future, your calling, your timing in the grand scheme of things, He is not your father, He is your dictator .
If you always feel less important, inferior and unworthy whenever you're around him, He is not your father.
If His coming into your life does not bring out the greatness, reveal the weaknesses in you and swallow up the frailties in you by expanding purpose and streamlining your focus then there is a problem BECAUSE HE IS NOT YOUR FATHER
