TOPIC: *THE ARM OF FLESH VS THE ARM OF MERCY*
When I was much younger and even now when ever we sang the hymn _Stand up for Jesus_ two lines always echo in my ears ...
the arm of flesh will fail thee
ye dare not trust your own
What is the arm of flesh ?
It is mans own ability , man's own wisdom , mans divided plans , aspirations and calculations . It is man's dependence on man and man made assistance .Oftentimes the arm of flesh appears to be strong and fast but it always ends in tears because Flesh can only produce corruption and death . _Galatians 6:8 (KJV) For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting._
_2 Chronicles 32:8 (KJV) With him is an arm of flesh; but with us is the LORD our God to help us, and to fight our battles. And the people rested themselves upon the words of Hezekiah king of Judah.
There is no durability , assurance , permanence or lasting joy when the arm of flesh is behind anything . The bible further says that the man who trusts in the arm of flesh is cursed . _Jer 17:5_
From our text , the Blind man was disadvantaged and if he makes efforts to meet Jesus he will stumble and fall and will even miss Jesus . I need you to imagine the number of people that were clamouring and pressing to see Jesus . Some were using their strength and might to push through but Jesus did not send for them . The blind man knew that he has no advantage or power of his own to grant him the attention he needed . But where power was useless , Mercy came in handy .
Luke 18:39 (KJV) And they which went before rebuked him, that he should hold his peace: but he cried so much the more, Thou Son of David, have mercy on me.
Those who had physical power and ability eben tried to shut him up but he shouted even more , pressing on the Mercy Button .
Things may seem to try to shout you down , imaginations and problems may try to talk you down this year but be ready to keep your thumbs glued to the mercy button .
Two things that God says we can boldly come to take from him is Mercy and Grace (Heb 4:16) . The Truth is believers pray for grace daily and Forsake mercy .
Note: Mercy is different from forgiveness . You don't have to commit a sin to ask for mercy . Mercy is God's Golden ticket in the audition of life .
Today repent from all your own efforts to get yourself to where only God can get you to . I always say that "Whatever God cannot give me , may I never have . And wherever God will not take me , may I never go". This doesn't create room for laziness it's entirely different and I trust God to grant you understanding.
PRAYER
DEAR LORD JESUS, Please forgive ne for all the times I've tried to use my flesh and my own power to bring about change and prosperity in my life , today I realise that your right hand is power . Therefore I retire from using the arm of my flesh I now depend on your spirit .

TOPIC: *FAVOUR THAT ENTHRONES*
TEXT: *Esther 2:8-9* _(KJV) So it came to pass, when the king's commandment and his decree was heard, and when many maidens were gathered together unto Shushan the palace, to the custody of Hegai, that Esther was brought also unto the king's house, to the custody of Hegai, keeper of the women._
_And the maiden pleased him, and she obtained kindness of him; and he speedily gave her her things for purification, with such things as belonged to her, and seven maidens, which were meet to be given her, out of the king's house: and he preferred her and her maids unto the best place of the house of the women._
Ether was one little village girl who never qualified to be a maid in the King's palace . But Vashti made a mistake that favoured Esther . May your enemies make mistakes that will favour you this year in the name of Jesus.
*FAVOUR PLACES STRATEGIC HELPERS ALONG YOUR PATH*
Esther would never know about the information from the palace if Mordecai never told her . Mordecai I believe kept on praying for her and giving her useful information and tips . May God put along your path , men and women who have the information you need for your next level .

TOPIC: OVERRIDING FLESH AND BLOOD
TEXT: Mathew 16:15-1
Many years ago while I was returning from the Redemption camp as a teenager I noticed my phone was missing . My friends and my cousin joined me in search for it but it was no where to be found . While we were in the Bus I decided to pray and stop worrying. We got home after the long trip and I slept off . Before going to sleep as my custom is , I always tell the Holy Spirit to show me everything I need to know . While I slept I saw my Cousin's father bringing my phone to me . I woke up feeling so much peace and I didn't bother about it again, I told my Cousin about the revelation . Few hours later , what I saw in my sleep played out , My cousin's dad was with my phone . I have learnt to depend on the spirit of God because flesh and blood will only increase your blood pressure.
Many believers are stuck in life because of the bad habit of depending on flesh and blood for revelations that can only come from the spirit of God .
Matthew 16:15-17 (KJV) He saith unto them, But whom say ye that I am?
And Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God. And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed art thou, Simon Bar-jona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven.
In our text , we could see that When Peter stood up to answer Jesus's Question about who He was . After that he was appointed to lead the team .

🕯Flesh and blood makes you to operate by what you see , it is deceptive and peripheral in nature . Flesh and blood makes you throw bows in the air and fight shadows . In Eph 6:12 the bible clearly states that we are not in a battle of flesh and blood but of spirits . When your colleagues are using charms and black magic to fight in the market place , you think logic and 48 laws of power will help you ? No ! You have to override flesh and blood and plug into the revelation that comes from the Father of our lord Jesus Christ , the father of all spirits.
🕯In Galatians 1:16-19 we saw why the Apostle Paul became more prominent and rose through the ranks that people began to compare and fight over Himself and Peter who had been in the faith all along . It was because He overrode flesh and blood , he went for the spirit .

To reveal his Son in me, that I might preach him among the heathen; immediately I conferred not with flesh and blood

TOPIC: AND THE HOLY GHOST SAID
TEXT: ACTS 13:2
Few hours ago , myself and my wife were watching a TV program and suddenly the signal went off and the the inscription "signal lost appeared on the TV Screen"
I had to go check the connection cable and discovered that it was slightly loosened , I fastened it and the TV came alive booming with pictures and sound again .
A lot of believers still find it difficult to hear from God and some even Join the world to criticize people who say that they hear from God . But the truth is God still speaks to people even today . They fail to realise that the problem is not with God its with them , somewhere somehow "Signal is lost" so in the spirit there can't be sound or pictures until signal is restored . Fasting and waiting on God has a miraculous way of flushing your system and turning the signal back on so you can see spiritual pictures and hear heavenly sounds.
From out text something amazing happened _Acts 13:2 (KJV) As they ministered to the Lord, and fasted, the Holy Ghost said, Separate me Barnabas and Saul for the work whereunto I have called them._
Fasting is a kind of ministration unto God , it aligns and synchronises the human spirit with Gods spirit and if there has been distorted communication , the signal will be restored . It was while they were fasting that the 'Holy Ghost said.'
There are certain revelations , certain instructions. Certain information's you won't hear when you're eating, but when you deliberately bring yourself into the place of consecrated fasting , then suddenly your ears will pop open and your receiver becomes receptive .
Luke 4:2, 14 (KJV) Being forty days tempted of the devil. And in those days he did eat nothing: and when they were ended, he afterward hungered.
And Jesus returned in the power of the Spirit into Galilee: and there went out a fame of him through all the region round about.
It was after fasting that Jesus returned in power , and same began to spread . You want to be powerful , you want to gain relevance in this year of Grace, Power and Relevance , you must be ready to pray and fast . Even Jesus was not an exception .
PRAYER
Lord Jesus , as I fast and Pray please speak to me and speak over me .
Dear lord , as I wait on you , may I not return the same way I came .
Note : Revelations will begin to increase , also the devil will try to attack peoples health so they'll stop fasting . Be vigilant and switch to praises and worship when this happens .

"Raphael , let me tell you , fearful people die a hundred times before their death". These where the words of my mentor Pastor Stephen Nwachukwu Many years ago .
I had series of road accidents as a young boy and it instilled fear in me . Travelling was a battle and even when I travelled I would calculatingly sit at the middle in the car or bus with the mindset that if anything happens to the car I will be safe because I am not too close to the edges 🤣. So funny !
One day I sent the Spirit of fear parking and I will seat beside the driver and ask death where is thy sting? Fear is a very powerful tool the devil uses against believers. When that wicked serpent wants to deal with a believer he pumps in high spiritual toxic substance called fear . Many believers have unknowingly shut down their blessings and turned back their deliverance because of fear.
WHAT HAPPENS WHEN THE SPIRIT OF FEAR IS AT WORK
🕯 Worry Steps in
🕯Desperation will lead to wrong judgement
🕯Wrong judgements will bring about wrong actions
🕯 Faith level begins to decline
🕯convictions begin to dwindle
🕯Your mind and soul experiences torment
🕯 Fear fuels unbelief _( until Peter began to fear he didn't sink. When you begin to fear death ....then death is at the corner . Fear is the devils passport to Carry out his plan against you)_
It is so sad that some believers have accepted fear as part of their life . You'll hear some persons say "I fear a lot that's how I am" ...No!
Whenever you operate in fear you give the devil an upper hand . Even in the midst of situations that should spring forth fear in anyone you can build your spirit man not to be afraid just like David .
_Psalms 23:4 (KJV) Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me._
The decision not to fear does not come as a gift , its a deliberate act . Make up your mind today not to fear , and that will ne the beginning of your victory .
JOB WAS AFRAID
_Job 3:25 (KJV) For the thing which I greatly feared is come upon me, and that which I was afraid of is come unto me._
Job was afraid of loosing his family , his possessions etc and when the Devil has a go ahead to attack him , he attacked the very things he was afraid of loosing .
🔅You need to know that Fear is of the devil
🔅Fear is a spirit
🔅Fear is not a gift or fruit of the spirit
From our main text , we learn that God does not go around distributing fear , rather He gives us a sound mind . Thus , whatever playa with you peace of mind is trying to open the door for the devourer . If you think critically you'll see that most of the times you allowed fear take over you , you loosing what you were afraid of loosing . The phrase Fear not Appears in the Bible 356 times , for everyday of your life pick up one of the Fear not's and use it
_1 John 4:18 (KJV) There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love._
Fear is an evil spirit and tiu must learn how to arrest it and dispel it because many people loose their blessings to fear .
So you feel extremely fearful after prayers ?
Are you so afraid of death and untimely death ? Are you intensely afraid of the dark , of accidents? etc this is a torment and you have to dispel it because only demons torment people and as a child of God you shouldn't be tormented . Protect your blessings today by arresting fear , holding it by the belt and pushing him out of your life and house today .

A man’s character is his fate. Heraclitus Thomas Jefferson, the third President of the United States (US), said: “Nothing can stop the man with the *right mental attitude* from achieving his goal; nothing on earth can help the man with the *wrong mental attitude.”
As a clergyman, I have watched pitiably how people self-sabotage themselves by seeking spiritual solutions to character-deficit issues. They look around at everybody as suspects for their predicaments when their greatest demons lurks within them - their character.
What we often call our destiny is truly our character, and since that character can change, then destiny can be altered. *Character is destiny* .
Is prayer actually EVERYTHING? Many would begin to argue back and forth on this intriguing question, but my main purpose of writing this piece is not to get involved in arguments. _Arguments don’t improve the validity of a ‘truth;’ they only determine how long it would take before you realise it._
Most people believe that we can pray ourselves to success and get away with virtually anything if we become a stickler to some prayer routines. There is no amount of spiritual penance that can substitute for character. Sometimes, you need character, not prayer.
Dutch Sheets said: *“Prayer is not a check request asking for things from God; it is a deposit slip- a way of depositing God’s character into our bankrupt souls.”*
British writer and politician, Thomas Macaulay (1800-1859), said: “ *The measure of a man’s character is what he would do if he knew he never would be found out.”* I have often said that what would ultimately destroy a man going to high places in life is not really the enemies that are waiting for him there, but the character that followed him there.
I want to emphatically underline the fact that this write-up is not meant to trivialise prayers in any way. I have observed that many people take character for granted, while overzealously tuning on into their spiritual mode.
We have become so spiritually in tune through prayers that we neglect the place of character and our relationship with people. Many are actually ‘heavenly’ bound, but with no earthly relevance. You can speak with spiritual eloquence, pray in public and maintain a holy appearance, but it is your behavior and character that will actually trigger the manifestation of all that God has for you.
*You must learn to treat people with courtesy* .
The Shunammite woman must have been praying for a child all through her life. By being hospitable to a man of God, she eventually got her much-awaited miracle. *It wasn’t prayer that opened the door for her; it was her character.* Assuming she wasn’t hospitable, she would have missed a critical miracle.
Many times, we pray, fast and bind demons that don’t exist when our real demons are just our greatly flawed character. _Many have insulted people that were divinely placed and orchestrated to help them fulfil their destiny._ Some people are keeping malice with their destiny helpers.
Treat people with respect.
Treat strangers with courtesy.
Never look down on anybody. God can use anyone to change your story.
Abigail Van Buren said: “The best index to a person’s character is _how he treats people who can’t do him any good, and how he treats people who can’t fight back.”_
You can easily judge the character of a man by how he treats those who can do nothing for him. The way we treat people we think can’t help or hurt us, like housekeepers, waiters, and secretaries, tells more about our character than how we treat people we think are important. _How do you treat people?_
One of the most impressive architectural feats and the greatest military defence project in history is the Great Wall of China. In 1987, UNESCO designated the Great Wall a World Heritage site,

The Chinese built the wall, but forgot the character - building of the wall-guards. Though the Great Wall has over the years become a powerful symbol of the country’s enduring strength and spirit, but it has actually been a good reminder to the Chinese of the superiority of human character.
The Chinese realised much later that the best defence against the enemy is not a fortified wall, but a fortified character. Thus, the building of human character comes before building of anything else.
Prayer is not EVERYTHING! Build relationships, and don’t ever forget that God will always use man. Be mindful of your words and how you speak to people. Work seriously on your character and attitude towards life.
I want to say emphatically that *character is not optional;* it is sacrosanct to the future that God has planned for you. No matter where you place prayers, character matters. *The greatest fraud in life is religion without character.* A man without character is recklessly alive.

Peter Schutz, the former chief executive officer of Porsche said: “ *HIRE CHARACTER; TRAIN SKILLS* .”
Lastly, back in the days when Germany was divided, a huge wall separated East and West Berlin.
One day, some people in East Berlin took a truck load of garbage and dumped it on the West Berlin side.
The people of West Berlin could have done the same thing, but they didn't.
Instead they took a truck load of canned goods, bread, milk and other provisions, and neatly stacked it on the East Berlin side.
On top of this stack they placed the sign:
*“EACH GIVES WHAT HE HAS"*
How very true! You can only give what you have.
What do you have inside of you?
Is it *hate* or *love* ?
*Violence* or *peace* ?
