Laundry soap containers. Plastic clamshells for berries and grapes. Shampoo bottles and broken toys. How do we manage the waste that we generate? And what is it doing to our world? Jill Winger of The Prairie Homestead, the author of “Old Fashioned on Purpose” and the host of the podcast by the same name, today offers insights about how to reduce our waste. She addresses the "why" and explains how to go about it. She discusses the problem waste creates in our physical homes and our larger home: the planet. She covers how to avoid contributing to the landfills. And she also reminds us that there is no waste in nature, offering insights on how to imitate its healthy ecosystem.

You know what the MOST important contributor to health is? 🤔
The autonomic nervous system. 😳
The Autonomic Nervous System (ANS) controls our heart rate, what hormones your glands secrete, and it even sizes up the state of alarm in your body and then coordinates a response. 🚨
A traumatized nervous system is volatile, overwhelmed, and hyper-reactive. It has learned to perceive everything as a threat, which means that your nervous system is constantly pushing you into a "Sympathetic" state - which you may know as "Fight, Flight, or Freeze". ⚠️
"Trauma causes people to remain stuck in interpreting the present in light of an unchanging past."
- Dr. Bessel van der Kolk
To stave off this over-protective defensive mechanism you need to send your body signals of safety so that your ANS, and the rest of you, can find peace and finally calm down!
Join me next Tuesday, Sept. 26th at 12pm CST as I show you THREE powerful ways you can send your nervous system a healing signal of SAFETY.

Check out these uses! 👇👇👇
AROMATIC - Pink Pepper is a relaxing oil that is used aromatically to support mood. The calming influence you feel when inhaling this oil is due to Limonene and α-Phellandrene, two of the main chemical components of the oil. Because of this, Pink Pepper pairs well with Lavender, Eucalyptus, Clary Sage, Frankincense, Patchouli and Spearmint.
TOPICAL - Massage a drop or two of Pink Pepper in fractionated coconut oil to pressure points to support circulation or combine with inflammation supporting oils like Frankincense, Copaiba and Turmeric for topical muscle and joint relief.
INTERNAL - Add a few drops of Pink Pepper essential oil to marinades for meat or vegetables for a little kick of flavor.
FUN FACT - What makes the chemistry of Pink Pepper so unique is that it includes a relatively high concentration of alpha-phellandrene (known for its support of the immune system). Pink Pepper essential oil contains more alpha-phellandrene than any other doTERRA single oil.
