When is the Victory Day parade?🎖

This year the Russian government decided to move the Victory Day parade to 24 June due to the COVID-19 outbreak in Russia. As they were afraid that many people might be infected during rehearsals or the event itself.

However, untill now there are more than 8 thousand new cases in Russia daily. That is why governments of some regions doubt the need for the parade. 20 cities have already canceled or delayed the parade.

1 July is an important day in political life of Russia🇷🇺

One week from 25 June till 1 July people in Russia are voting for constitutional amendments📃

It is the biggest change of the Constitution of the Russian Federation since it was officially adopted by national referendum on December 12, 1993.

The new amendments affect many aspects of life of the society. Firstly, they guarantee the protection of animals, environment, people with disabilities and senior citizens. Secondly, they change the structure of local government and limit its authority.

Moreover, they significantly expand the powers of the president, at the same time one of the amendments allows Vladimir Putin to stay in power for another two terms. The other amendment also gives the Russian language a special status😊
