[•••Our noble Prophet ﷺ never beat any one of his wives•••]
In fact he went out of his way on numerous occasions, right up until his final speech, to encourage and emphasise the good and honourable treatment of women.
Abu Hurayrah رضي الله عنه narrated that the Prophet ﷺ said:
❝I enjoin you to treat women well, for the woman was created from a rib and the most curved part of the rib is its uppermost part. If you try to straighten it you will break it, but if you leave it as it is it will remain curved. So be good to women.❞
[Reported by al-Bukhārī & Muslim in al-Sahīhayn]
Twice in the same hadīth, he ﷺ emphasised the good treatment of women, he ﷺ began with it and ended with it. That is the Sunnah which every man should focus on and seek to emulate; not spend all their efforts looking for ways to justify beating their (usually non-existent) wives.
Yes, the āyah in Sūrah al-Nisā permits disciplining the wife. However it must be understood in its correct context that this is the exception and can be done as a very last resort after several other avenues have been exhausted (as outlined according to the verse), but it seems that some people today out of their desires try to make it appear as the general rule or even as an obligation to fulfil if their wife happens to upset them a little.

Smart-phones have become like drugs for many people, especially youngsters. Some have become so addicted to it that, at times, they are completely oblivious to their surroundings.
There is no doubt that this new device has had a huge negative impact on our lives, and has significantly affected our relationship with our own family. I know of parents who complain that their children don't communicate properly due to their deep engagement with the smart phone. Relationship between husband and wife has been affected because of this *Mal'ūn* device.
At times, on Ī'd day or in a restaurant, when people/family gather, they will be busy on their smart phones. The question arises: "Why have you gathered, if you're speaking to someone else?!".
You will be lucky, in this day and age, to find a family who sit together in a tech-free environment and have a meal together at home.
Alhamdulillāh, I've tried to act upon this once a day, at least, where I'm sitting with my family to eat: we don't have our devices on us; we speak about general things; and we don't let our devices disturb us. Believe me, this meal is much better and more productive!
In addition to this, how much time are we wasting from our precious life because of this device and the futile actions we do on it? At times, we don't realise that we have wasted several hours in a day, yet those same hours could have been utilised in preparing for the life Here-after, or in something productive for this world at least.
There are recent researches conducted by psychologists and psychotherapists that suggest that depression and various types of anxieties are exacerbating amongst people, especially youngsters, due to excessive usage of the smartphone.
The reality is, we can't completely eradicate this problem, but what we can do is to minimise its usage and make our time more productive, Inshā'Allāh.

Ibn ’Ābidīn comments on the following words of al-Ḥaṣkafī' in Radd 'l-Muḥtār [6/418], 'it is disliked for a man to call his father by his name or a woman to call her husband by his name':
❝Rather it is important to use a word denoting respect like 'Yā Sayyidī' or similar phrases, to show their due rights upon the son and wife, respectively.❞

"O Adam! Your laughter in Paradise is yours, while your weeping in this worldly life is ours.
How can the one who submitted to Allah be harmed, while My Grace blesses him? Glory is compatible to him whose body is submissive. I am with them whose hearts are submissive to Me."
~ Ibn al-Qayyim
