Near a small blackhole , the difference of attraction towards blackhole per unit length is too much. That means suppose if 50N pulling force is experienced from one point then after 2 cm the force becomes 80N. That means deviation per unit length is 15N. Because of this huge deviation of force of gravity If you try to go inside a black hole you will die before reaching the event horizon. Why though? Because, suppose while falling into blackhole your leg is towards its centre and head is away from it. Then pulling force will be very large in your leg but that will be very small in your head with respect to leg ; i.e. the deviation or difference of forces in your head and leg will be massive. Because of that you will start to strech like elastic rubber and soon you will stretch so much that nothing but a shape of string or noodle will remain. Now surely you know why you will die. By the way , this phenomenon is called Sphagettification. But, near a supermassive black hole this does not happen outside event horizon as deviation of pulling force is not that large there.
