New episode of BTQ is out. Do watch it for insightful analysis of emerging historiography. We have traced Nur Jahan's assessment through four phases, the final one being the latest Feminist view.
I am sure it will be extremely useful for various other questions in Ancient and Medieval India.

This time, there are only 14 weeks between Prelims and Mains. It is less than 17 weeks that we usually get. There is a lot of confusion and direction-less among the students. In this context, LevelUp IAS is starting a Crash Course cum Test Series for History Optional.
In 16 lectures (4 hours each, 2 per week, 4 per section), we will cover all the main thematic aspects with upgraded historiography from the exam-centric viewpoint. It will cover about 200 themes. There will also be ample answer writing practice in class. Moreover, the schedule of tests is designed as to allow three rounds of revision for thorough coverage of the syllabus.
Do watch the video to know all the details. For further information, visit: https://www.levelupias.com/upsc-cse-history-optional-test-series/

PYQ Book - History Optional.pdf
1.9 MB
This is the first edition of the PYQ book. I have slightly re-arranged the questions in the most intuitive manner for their best utilization. I am sure it will be extremely helpful.
Last week, I got this old book on the streets of CP. Written by a Jewish art historian of Austrian origin who moved to England just before the world war 2 started.
This book touched my soul for two reasons.
Firstly, it reconfirmed my belief that the golden mean of popular/entertaining and academically sound is really possible. This is what I have been striving for, as a teacher. Academically sound as well as engaging at the same time. His writing proves it once again.
Secondly, his observations about where the world was and where the world is going. Wisdom of a historians lifetime observations is always so moving, extremely perceptive and enriching.
(PS - this book is NOT recommended for our preparation for the exam. This comes from general reading. Please focus on your exam preparation. I will keep providing observations regarding reading for your motivation and due to my compulsion)
