Total 13 History Questions. Modern India only 2 while Culture 11 questions. Modern questions were quite simple and direct. Culture questions were mix of difficult and easy. But they were not very out of the way.
For history optional, students dont focus on Culture separately in detail. They think they know culture because they have studied Optional. It is partly correct, but not entirely. Some additional efforts are required in a different manner for Optional students also to be able to cover the Culture questions.

Strategy going forward is simple. And it was the same last year also. If you are a serious candidate, do not waste time on matching various keys, but start preparing for Mains right away. There are two reasons for it.
Firstly, if you get through Prelims, you will remain on track. There is no point wasting any time.
Secondly, if you dont get through, there are very high chances that you would not be ably use the time till Nov-Dec. Random books, unnecessary planning etc will kill your time. Its better instead to presume that you are writing mains, follow the entire regimen, join some test series, follow deadline, work hard and manage the stress. You will have one dry run, one experience. That too before October. From October to December, cover the things which you could not do due to deadlines. And then afterwards shift towards Prelims. This dry run will be extremely useful as instructive. You will be much better prepared the next year.
Keep working. Time is the only currency you have which matters in the preparation. Spend it wisely.
