What are you working on regarding beatbox?
Tips and Thoughts for your wildcard (gbb or else)
⚑ I decided to take action in november 2019 towards my beatbox skills. It took me a few years before I saw huge results.

😱 Today I am able to perform things I could never imagine.

πŸ₯ Timing became my strongest point when I had terrible timing issues back in the days.

πŸ”Š Learning sounds wasn't natural to me and now I can learn any sound I want with the right dedication. I broke my limiting beliefs to push my limits. In 2022 at french champs I realized I didn't have many original sound combinations (only had basics almost) and that was one of my focus in 2023, which helped me define my style as a Beatboxer.

🎀 Stage performance due to stage fright made me fail and feel frustrated a lot for years. Microphone training sessions and catching stage opportunities gave me experience and I'm currently most likely confortable, and even excited when it comes to performing live.

πŸ—£οΈ My current struggle has been vocal pitching because my ear hasn't been trained enough. I felt as lost as for my timing when I discovered I was naturally bad at it. It's been two years since I work on my ear and pitch and I see significant results to this day. I ain't a good singer but I can Create catchy melody progressions and I'm getting proud of it. I'll keep taking action this way as I did for timing. 😁

β˜€ Everything is possible guys. It's a matter of beliefs and dedication. No talent exist. Only smart work. 🧠

Thank you for reading me!
I'm battling tomorrow. Top French Beatboxers level competition. I'll let you know how it goes πŸ‘Œ
Note about my battle! The event was underground and friendly. The level was very high. We had vice french champion Synopsys, a few Top 16 and Top 8 ranked beatboxers in France and also some strong newcomers. ⚑

I got beaten at first round in quarter finals against the newcomer NLD. He did great and is strong. I did great and I am proud of my first round. Therefore I messed up on my second round. Lots of execution mistakes related to a bad mental preparation. I was technically prepared but not mentally. 🧠

The good thing is that I didn't spoil my material for the Next french champs. πŸ’ͺ

Looking forward doing better next time. 😁

Training tip 1: Less is more.

Have you ever tried to beatbox drum cover a track?

Type β€œdrumless backing track” on YouTube and play the drummer role as a beatboxer.

Go simple but consistent.

Be minimalistic
Productivity Tip 1: Use a tracker app or document to measure the things you want to improve.

If you want to better pitch your sounds, take a keyboard and track the time you spend training your pitch for each session.

Eventually measure the rate of success and try to do better next time.

Bodybuilders track the weight lifted to go heavier next time. Do the same for your training sessions.
Mindset Tip 1: Building your beatbox style is a process, not an event!

You have an advantage over your competitors when you choose to embrace difficulty to progress.

Many beatboxers want the magical recipe for leveling up instantly – it’s all a process and not an event.
Technical Tip 1: Quick approach to come up with new routines.

β€’ Develop material: Focus on developing new sounds, new patterns, and new sound combinations by implementing the latest sounds you’ve learnt. Use time subdivisions to place them in the timing. Create the new sound combinations with other sounds than basics. You can have special snares, hi-hat or kick techniques. Basics are not only about B T K – make your own basics. As long as these are clean and powerful, it can only be beneficial for you to develop a new sound kit.

β€’ To compose an idea, carefully choose the sounds to have a balance between low and high frequencies. Work the main ideas by 4, 8 or 16 bars. Arrange where you have space to create variation to keep the attention of your audience. Rehearse these ideas to master them.

β€’ Once you master an idea, you can create around it.

πŸ₯Š Remember, if you want to know more about training sessions, my book is still available for sale: https://www.nazcabeats.com/shop/p/how-to-build-your-beatbox-training-action-plan-e-book

Training Tip 2: Feeling average in the execution of an idea?

Weak sounds, unclean performances? Hold your idea for 5*2 minutes straight every day, which a 1 minute break between serie of 2 minutes. Do it for 14 days and see the results.
Productivity Tip 2: Social Medias is a huge source of distraction.

We lose in average 2 to 3 hours a day scrolling.

Get a feed blocker and/or an app blocker to take control over your digital consumption.

Replace taking your phone in your idle/waiting moments by reading, learning, writing ideas, or any productive activity.
