A speeding lorry runs over a man on motorcycle who was cutting over traffic.
The family of a boda boda rider who was seen in a viral video being run over by a Brookside Milk tanker along Thika Superhighway has confirmed that he miraculously survived the horrific crash and is currently admitted at Kenyatta University Teaching, Referral and Research Hospital (KUTRRH) where he is being treated for multiple fractures in his arms and legs, with doctors also checking for possible pelvic injuries.
The rider, identified as Ian Githinji, was reported missing for two days before his family recognized him through the distinctive jacket he wore in the widely circulated footage.
Despite the shocking nature of the crash, medical staff at KUTRRH have confirmed that Githinji, who was a well-known errand rider in the Kamakis bypass area, is in stable condition and responding well to treatment.
The incident, which many initially believed had claimed his life, has reignited concerns about road safety and the reckless driving that continues to endanger Kenyan lives.
