A bodaboda rider who was arrested in Kibera, Nairobi over the murder of Kasipul MP Charles Ong’ondo Were has confessed to police that he was paid Ksh 50,000 to ferry the assassin to and from the murder scene along Valley Road.
The suspect, identified as Amos Baraza, admitted to unknowingly transporting the killer using his motorcycle, which was later recovered from his residence in Laini Saba.
Baraza claimed he only realized the identity of the victim after locals began discussing the incident.
His arrest on May 13 brings the total number of suspects in custody to 12, including Isaac Kuria alias “Kush” who was caught at the Kenya-Tanzania border while attempting to flee and others linked to the planning and financing of what police believe was a politically motivated hit
