S&P500 is largely flat when factored in the amount of USD printed thru 2008-2021.

Explain like I’m 7:
if you’ve been putting money in US (or any other country) stocks, & feeling invincible as your stocks fly~
🚨 Reality check!! Your money is worth just about as much ‘value’ as it was in 2018.
🚨 EM stocks (like 🇲🇾) generally weaker than US, as USD continue to strengthen against EM currencies. Yes, our MYR weakening despite massive $$💵 printing... 🤷🏻‍♀️

Historically, or maybe culturally, people tend to regard GOLD as store of value & inflation hedge.

Fact: 🔍
Data above shows gold price DOWN by -60% ever since US starts massive money printing aka QE, following the 2009 sub-prime crisis.

Meaning over the past decade or so, in contrary to SoV, hedging fiat to GOLD actually resulted in a 60% loss of monetary value. 🥲⚜️〽️

Tbh, I’m not sure why is it so. It is just so, factually. Maybe, is a new age, new SoV thingy? 😈🤩
