2009-2022 π«§
13yrs of Fed βeasy liquidityβ has rendered many investors oblivious to the fact that global economy was already on the brink of cratering even before covid hits β
γ½οΈno real gdp growth since 2009 GFC
βοΈcorp margins squeezed underneath free money driven rising stock prices
π consumers spending merely stemmed from piling credit card π³ debts
π‘ easy mortgages surviving on low ratesβ¦
all the exuberance are coming back to haunt us hard as Fed continue to raise rates steadfastly.
Geopolitics
π·πΊ Sanctions on Russian nat resources β¨οΈ
+ π¨π³ Chinaβs rear-end support for her closest ally π€π»π€π» β by shutting down their own economy β will only exacerbate the global supply chain issues further,
sending inflation & power costs in US & Europe through the roof. πͺ«πͺ«
Precisely why this time Fed CANNOT just simply continue printing (like how they did after β00 dotcom bubble & β09 GFC), π£π΅
β¦because any more exuberance will send the US economy into hyperinflation, creating a US-zuela crisis. Accelerating the loss of confidence in USD global reserve status. πͺ¦πΈ
Cornering Your Enemy β
never forget Russians are world class chess players & Xi def a π¦ deploying the Art of War.
Seems they are always few steps ahead of the West.
havenβt go into how the EU has dropped a brick 𧱠on their own footβ¦
Too much to spew out, TBC in a full substack post. π€π»π

Economic survey toniteβ¦π
π minced meat noodles $9
π single-serve stir fry vege rice $10
π fried chicken (side dish) $6
πΊ sour plum juice $12
π₯‘ soybean tongshui $4
βββββββββ
2pax dai pai tong (hawker stall) dinner @ $41 π²πΎ
If I add another $20-30, can get MUCH better food, service & environment in an air-conditioned restaurant.
Food prices has in fact RISEN FASTER on the streets than in more pricey eatouts.
Food Inflation, as always, hit the lower income groups the hardest.
What can we do?
1) Stop complaining.
2) Focus the energy on increasing our income.πͺ πͺ
