Late-night Tuesday clinical pearl:

Use 0.8 mm wire for a TPA in 3-piece maxilla cases. Using a bigger diameter you may fail to insert it into the tubes during surgery.

Come to our March course to practice wire bending and learn useful clinical tips: http://wearemosg.ru/course

Btw, I’ll be showing this exact case with full records. Among many others.
Good evening colleagues

🔠 believe that wire bending and thorough knowledge of biomechanics are necessary skills that save us a lot of time and trouble in many situations.

🔠uick 🔠uestion for you: What is this called? And what do you think it is used for?

🔠on’t forget to check out our 2-day March’s event. We will be dedicating a big chunk of it to a hands-on wire bending workshop.

Use occlusal ramps in surgical Cl II patients to prevent AP slide after surgery.

The ramps can be placed on either bicuspids or molars. I model them myself on presurgical casts and transfer them into the mouth right before the surgery.

Visit our upcoming course to learn useful tips for surgical cases and more!

Recently got a few requests from abroad: yes, the second day of our course will be held in English as well. We will have 2 groups of 10. One in Russian, the other in English.

The second day is already 50% booked.

Here is the schedule in English: https://ditmarov.wordpress.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/orthodontics-that-works-schedule.pdf
Disc displacement by CSG.pdf

One of the best articles on disc displacement that I've ever come across. Published in 1988 by Chuck Greene aka "Bill Proffit of TMD". As relevant as if it was written yesterday.
Charlatan — a person who pretends to have skills or knowledge that they do not have, especially in medicine.

Here is a must-read paper by Jeffrey Okeson. Permanent increase of vertical dimension is not indicated as a treatment for TMD!

Yes, it’s quite opposite from what charlatans told you!
One of our group members sent this interesting case report for discussion. We have zero idea about what is written by the author since it’s in Japanese. But according to the incomplete records presented, the mandible surprisingly grew about 1.5 cm. Let’s discuss!

Gnathological beliefs supporting canine-protected occlusion should be scrutinized flushed down the toilet!

That’s a great new article from a great lineup of authors!
Someone previously asked where to get archform templates. Here is the link. Note: I have a conflict of interest.

Body Dysmorphic Disorder.

That’s a very important theme raised by Neal Kravitz in the new JCO editorial. There is no way such patients could be satisfied!

I’ve just posted the final records of this case.
