⭕️API PLAN 01⭕️

✔️Description
Integrated (internal) product recirculation from pump discharge to seal chamber.

✔️Features
1. Minimizes risk of freezing / polymerizing of fluid in flush piping plans exposed to atmosphere.
2. Removes heat from the seal chamber as well as acting as a vent connection in horizontal pumps.

✔️Use
1. Recommended in clean fluids.
2. Recommended for fluids which thicken at ambient temperature.

✔️Caution
1. Ensure that the recirculation is sufficient for seal heat removal.

✔️Description
Dead ended seal chamber with no flush fluid circulation.

✔️Features
1. Applicable to low seal chamber pressure and process temperature.
2. Can be used with tapered seal chambers, especially for slurries.
3. Normally is used along with a jacketed seal chamber.

✔️Use
1. In cool clean fluids with high specific heat, such as water, in relatively low speed pumps.

✔️Caution
1. To avoid flashing, process fluid temperature must be taken into consideration.
2. Avoid use without cooling / heating jacket (for cylindrical chambers).
3. Ensure top point vent in throat bush (for cylindrical chambers in horizontal pumps).

✔️Description
Circulation between the seal chamber and pump is created by seal chamber design.

✔️Features
The mechanical seal is cooled by product flow created by seal chamber design.
Seal chamber design provides improved venting of air of air of vapours.

✔️Use
Generally used in applications where there is not significant seal heat generated.
Solids could collect in traditional seal chamber.

✔️Caution
Not suitable for cylindrical bore seal chambers.
May not be suitable for high pressure or high temperature seal chambers.

✔️مزایا:

✅️ پدیده hang up در این مدل آب بند کمتر اتفاق می افتد.
✅️برای آب بندی سیالات با درجه حرارت بالا مناسب است.
✅️قابلیت استفاده در سرعت دورانی بالای شفت را دارد.
✅️ بدون ایجاد پله روی شفت یا سیلیو آن، متعادل هستند.
✅️ آب بند ثانویه روی شفت حرکت محوری ندارد لذا سایش شفت در محل استقرار آب بند ثانویه اتفاق نمی افتد.
✅️فضای شعاعی کمتری را اشغال می کند.
✅️ امکان استفاده از بیلوز های از جنس تفلون (PTFE) برای سرویس های خورنده وجود دارد.
✅️برای آب بندی سیالات با گرانروی بالا قابل استفاده هستند.

⭕️API PLAN 11⭕️

✔️Description
Product recirculation from pump discharge to seal through a flow control orifice.

✔️Features
1. Prevents product from vaporizing by maintaining positive pressure above vapour pressure.
2. Becomes a self-venting plan for horizontal pumps.
3. Default API Plan for most single seals.

✔️Use
1. In general, applications with clean non-polymerizing fluids with moderate temperatures.

✔️Caution
1. Calculation of recirculation flow rate, heat removal and orifice size are required.
2. Orifice size should be at least 1/8” (3.2mm).
3. Check the margin between discharge pressure and seal chamber pressure to ensure proper flow of fluid.
4. Do not use with media containing solids and abrasives.

مزایای آب بند های کارتریج:

✅️ به هنگام نصب احتیاج به تنظیم آب بند وجود ندارد.
✅️ زمان نصب آب بند را کاهش می دهد.
✅️ به هنگام نصب امکان آسیب سطوح آب بند کمتر وجود دارد.
✅️ به هنگام نصب آب بند احتیاج به افراد ماهر و حرفه ای وجود ندارد.
✅️ بخاطر وجود سیلیو در این نوع آب بند پدیده خوردگی سایشی شفت اتفاق نمی افتد.
✅️ وجود سیلیو می تواند انبساط حرارتی شفت پمپ را جبران نماید.
✅️ زمان تعمیرات و هزینه آن را کاهش می دهد.

✔️Caution
1. Always ensure that orifice is placed after the Y strainer.
2. This plan is normally discouraged due to unreliability of Y strainer.
3. Calculation of recirculation is required

⭕️API PLAN 23⭕️

✔️Description

This plan involves the forced circulation of process fluids from the seal chamber through a seal flush heat exchanger and back to the seal chamber.

✔️Application Notes
Seal has an internal circulating device (pumping ring) that circulates seal chamber fluid through a cooler and back to the seal chamber.
Provides a cool flush to the seal to improve lubricity, reduce coking, and/or avoid fluid flashing to vapor.
Commonly used for hot water services above 180°F [80°C] (e.g. boiler feed water) and hot hydrocarbon services.
Throat bushing is used to isolate product in the seal chamber from product in the pump volute.
More energy efficient than Plan 21 since only the fluid in the seal chamber is run through the cooler.
If the cooler duty is high, fouling and clogging on the water side can occur over time.
Potential for clogging on the process side if the fluid becomes too viscous at reduced temperature.
Best piping practices must be followed to avoid vapor entrapment and stalled flow in the tubing.

✔️Pros:
Improved energy savings compared to Plan 21
Cool flush improves seal lubricity and reduces coking

✔️Cons:
The use of products with a high viscosity can negatively affect fluid circulation
Maintenance of the Seal Cooler although better than Plan 21
