Every now and then in Singapore, we find our multiracial communities celebrating their respective festivals on the same day. I wish all Hindu devotees a blessed and meaningful Thaipusam; I also wish everyone a happy Chap Goh Mei! 祝大家元宵节快乐！

Happy International Women’s Day! Through many contributions, women have left an indelible mark on Singapore. We will constantly strive for a fairer and more equal society based on meritocracy, where women can pursue their aspirations freely and fully.

Singaporean Muslims begin their fast today. After three years, our Muslim community can again welcome the Holy month as they used to before the pandemic. I wish all Muslims a blessed and meaningful Ramadan, and Selamat Berpuasa!

Highlights of my meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping in Beijing. Also had fruitful meetings with National People’s Congress Chairman Zhao Leji, Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference Chairman Wang Huning, and Party Secretary of Beijing Yin Li. 🇸🇬🇨🇳

Happy to meet Chinese Premier Li Qiang at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing today. Singapore & China upgraded our ties and substantively concluded the China-Singapore Free Trade Agreement Subsequent Negotiations. 🇸🇬🇨🇳

Today, Tamils mark the first day of the new year with Puthandu celebrations while Sikhs celebrate Vesakhi. Other communities also observe the Indian New Year around this time. For all who are celebrating, I wish you and your families abundance and happiness!

I spoke in Parliament today in support of the Motion of Thanks to the President. In these challenging times, Singapore must make the best of our advantages and turn opportunities into successes, so that we can secure our future and our place in the world.

The global multilateral trading system is under siege. This has very serious implications for the global economy, and especially for small, open economies like Singapore that depend on a stable and well-functioning international trading system.

In this troubled world, it is all the more important for Singapore to remain one united people. This is what Forward Singapore is about, to bring Singaporeans together to refresh our social compact, and to create a collective roadmap for our way forward.

Singapore must keep our go-getting spirit of self-reliance and enterprise. We must stay open and connected to the world, form good relations with other countries and find ways to work with them and make our living.

We must uphold Singapore’s good reputation and standing in the world. Confidence and trust in the Singapore brand is a precious asset in an uncertain world. We must build on it for the future generations, and never sully it.

✅ Our economy is sound and our institutions are in place
✅ Our people have the skills and instincts to earn a living for themselves
✅ Our reserves are well managed
