The work never stops for the Police Coast Guard. Visited the them at their HQ in Pulau Brani this morning to hand out Chinese New Year goodies, and thank them for their constant vigilance.

Some highlights from my visit to SATS Inflight Catering Centre this morning. It may be CNY but staff were hard at work preparing meals for the many passengers departing from Changi Airport every day.

It was a riot of colours & non-stop energy at Chingay 2019! A big thank you to the People’s Association, all the volunteers, performers, & participants who put in so much time and effort to deliver a sensational performance!

The adage is true: behind every successful nation, is its women. :) A happy International Women’s Day to everyone!

Visited the Singapore Zoo in Mandai and Jurong Bird Park recently. Glad to see how they have developed over the years to what they are now - world-class wildlife sanctuaries.

In Beijing now for the 2nd Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation. President Xi Jinping & Mdm Peng Liyuan hosted a gala dinner for leaders in the Great Hall of the People last night.

PM Lee gave the keynote address at the Shangri-La Dialogue. In this extract, he speaks about the fundamental problem in the US-China relationship, & the consequences of a face-off between both sides.

Shangri-La Dialogue 2019: Zero-sum dynamic makes it hard to reach agreement between US & China. But it is in their interest to keep their relationship steady, so they can focus on domestic priorities.

Shangri-La Dialogue 2019: It is natural that the US & China will vie for power & influence, but competition should not inevitably lead to conflict. We hope they find a constructive way forward.

Shangri-La Dialogue 2019: To expect every country to adopt the same values & systems is neither reasonable nor realistic. Diversity is humankind’s strength. There is much we can learn from each other.
