A simple password is like keeping a key under the front door mat; easy for you to get in, but also anyone else!

If your password is easy to guess, it isn't secure. This #WorldPasswordDay, we encourage you to use strong passcodes to keep your digital life safe.

Protect yourself and those you love with good cyber habits, like creating a strong, unique passphrase instead of a simple password for each online account.

Welcome to inter-team competition, Cohort 1 - Virtual Assistance Bootcamp

You'll start hearing my voice shortly.
The Scenario:

Company: Mid-sized software development company specializing in productivity tools for remote teams. They’ve seen rapid growth in the past two years due to the rise of remote work.

CEO: Sarah Johnson, a visionary leader who’s driven the company’s success but is increasingly stretched thin. Her days are filled with back-to-back meetings, relentless firefighting, and little time for high-level strategic thinking.

Challenges:
Overburdened schedule: Sarah is involved in too many operational decisions.

Information bottleneck: Project updates and key data often get delayed before reaching her.

Missed Appointments: Sarah’s chaotic schedule leads to missed or rescheduled meetings with important partners, investors, or potential clients, damaging relationships, and stalling progress.

Strained work-life balance: The CEO’s workload is causing burnout and impacting morale.

Task: As a DEXA Certified Virtual Assistance Professional, how can you help Sarah?

(Tips to help your presentation:)
Mention the type of VA Sarah needs to hire
Identify at least 2 challenges that should be given top priority,
Mention software or tools you’ll use in solving Sarah’s problems and how hiring you will improve Sarah’s productivity

How to start and finish an Online Course!

One of the most difficult thing for people looking to get into tech these days is starting and fishing their tech courses online.

It's the inconsistency for me 🫣.

Starting and finishing an online course requires discipline, time management, and a clear plan.

Here's a step-by-step guide to help you get started and complete an online course:

Starting an online course:

1. Set clear goals: Define why you want to take the course and what you hope to achieve through it.

Write it down!

2. Choose a course: Select a course that aligns with your goals and interests.

3. Check the requirements: Ensure you meet the prerequisites and have the necessary resources (e.g., device, software, hardware).

4. Create a schedule: Plan out dedicated time for learning and stick to it. Could be specific days of the week or times of the day.

5. Familiarize yourself with the platform: Explore the learning management system (LMS) and understand how to navigate it. If you intend to take a course on DEXA, first understand how our platform works.

6. Start with the introductory materials: Get an overview of the course content, objectives, and expectations.

Finishing an online course:

1. Break the course into smaller chunks: Divide the content into manageable modules or tasks to maintain momentum.

Don't gulp everything at once. You're not a corrupt politician🙄

2. Set milestones and deadlines: Create a timeline to stay on track and ensure consistent progress. Don't do it when you feel like. Work with a plan.

3. Actively participate: Engage with the course materials, ask questions, and interact with peers and instructors.

4. Practice and apply what you learn: Reinforce new skills and knowledge through practical exercises or real-world applications.

5. Stay motivated: Celebrate small victories, remind yourself of your goals, and don't be too hard on yourself if you encounter setbacks. Post on social media about your progress so far.

Letting people know makes you sit up because people now know ☺️.

6. Complete the final assessment or project: Submit your work if any, and receive feedback from the instructor or peers.

7. Reflect and evaluate: Assess your learning experience, identify areas for improvement, and apply what you've learned to real-life ssituations

A course is not a poem, don't finish one and get a spa session next. Rebecca work on it.

Best Regards,

Team DEXA
And the winner is...
🌚 Commercial break first or... ? 🤔
Team 4 is our Overall Winner !🏆
Report:

After careful analysis of the scores from all four judges, Team 4 is declared the winner of the competition.

*The reasons for this decision are:*

- Team 4 received the highest score from Judge 1, with a significant lead over the other teams.

- Team 4 was tied for first place with Team 1 in Judge 2's scoring, demonstrating a strong performance.

- Judge 3 awarded Team 4 the highest score, solidifying their position as a top contender.

- While Team 1 and Team 7 tied for first place in Judge 4's scoring, Team 4's consistent performance across all judges secured their win.

Team 4 demonstrated exceptional skill and consistency throughout the competition, earning them the top spot, *according to the scores*

This does not mean that any other team wouldn't emerge The winner if the criteria be over turned.

It was a clearly competitive competition and most teams brought their A game.

Congratulations to everyone who participated.
Just find purpose and you wouldn't run out of energy.

Just Find purpose...

For yourself or for your business.

Why do you do what you do?

Whose problem are you solving?

Is it worth it?

Most people get into businesses without a mission and then wonder why they become inconsistent along the way when the money isn't forthcoming yet.

It's basically because you do not know your "why".

Your mission or purpose is the reason you wake up everyday and swear to go harder each time.

It gives you direction so you don't stop at everything calling your attention and then lose your focus.

Focus is energy.

If your mission is to get to Lagos, you can drive into the highway and take a turn towards portharcourt.

But if your mission is to get to Lagos and Help Tony Elumelu hack a locked macbook and recover a missing document in his office, then you'll stop nowhere until you get to Lagos.

Because someone with value is waiting and frustrated and needs your services in exchange for value. Your mission is to solve his problems.

Your purpose keeps you coordinated.

Why you, why your business? Why start?

Please answer that question today and see the energy you'll feel to be consistent afterwards.

For example, at DEXA we are reducing unemployment and cyber crime among Africa's employable population, through distribution of high income Digital skills and helping everyday people begin careers in tech seamlessly.

Even without a degree.

This is why I wake up every day and know Rwanda needs me, Kenya needs my company, Nigeria calls out for me, Madagascar needs us, Malawi is open to receive us, etc.

Find your mission. Find the purpose for which you exist and put it at the forefront of your decisions and you'll never burn out of ideas or energy.
